Sunday Night Football White ArDarius Stewart Jerseys , Week 9. Tonight the Green Bay Packers travel to Foxboro, Massachusetts to take on the New England Patriots in a rare matchup of two legendary NFL quarterbacks. The Packers, led by the best quarterback in the NFL in Aaron Rodgers, come into the game a disappointing 3-3-1, with just two wins in their last six games. Those two wins came at the expense of the lowly Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers, meaning the Packers haven’t beaten a quality opponent since their opening day victory over the Chicago Bears. A loss in this game would do severe damage to the playoff hopes of the Packers. In contrast to the Packers, the Patriots, led by ageless wonder Tom Brady, come into this game on fire, winners of five straight games. With a 6-2 record the Patriots are on track for their billionth consecutive AFC East title and one of the top seeds in the AFC playoffs. This one is for anyone who loves to watch the best quarterbacks the NFL has to offer. It’s the Packers and the Patriots in a great Sunday Night Football game.Enjoy the game everybody. NEW YORK (AP) — Le’Veon Bell sat out a full season while considering where he’d make his next playmaking moves.Well-rested, motivated and armed with a new contract, the star running back is joining Sam Darnold and the New York Jets.Bell agreed to a deal early Wednesday morning ArDarius Stewart Jerseys 2019 , a person with direct knowledge of the negotiations told The Associated Press. The decision ended months of speculation about where he’d resume his playing career after six years with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The person spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because teams can’t officially announce signings until the start of the new league year Wednesday afternoon.ESPN first reported the signing, and said the deal is for four years and $52.5 million — including $35 million guaranteed.Bell, a former Michigan State star, also announced his decision on Twitter , saying: “I’m back in the green baby, let’s get it.”Several teams were mentioned throughout the past few days as having interest in signing Bell, with the Jets consistently among them. Many football fans and reporters took to their computers to download the new album released at midnight by the running back — who goes by the stage name “Juice” — to glean any potential clues in his lyrics he might have included about his next football destination. The news, however, came as many were in between tracks. And, Bell was immediately a big-time hit among the Jets and their fans.“Welcome my brutha @LeVeonBell,” linebacker Avery Williamson tweeted.“I’m in Miami brotha,” safety Jamal Adams tweeted at Bell. “We going up tonight!!!”The deal gives Darnold and new coach Adam Gase a big-time playmaker White Darron Lee Jerseys , arguably the best player at his position before Bell opted to sit out all of last season rather than sign a franchise tender with Pittsburgh. The 27-year-old Bell is a two-time AP All-Pro selection and three-time Pro Bowl pick who immediately upgrades the Jets’ backfield.New York still has Isaiah Crowell, Elijah McGuire and Trenton Cannon, but Crowell is likely to be released after one season with the team. Bilal Powell, the team’s fourth-round pick in 2011, is a free agent and unlikely to be back.Bell has rushed for 5,336 yards and 35 touchdowns, and has 312 catches for 2,660 yards and seven scores as one of the most versatile and dangerous offensive players in the NFL. His 128.9 yards from scrimmage per game over his career is the best mark in the NFL since the 1970 merger.Bell’s career reached a crossroads, however, last year when he declined to sign his one-year, $14.4 million franchise tender with the Steelers and made himself ineligible to play. It was an unprecedented move as Bell — who received the franchise tag in two straight years — skipped a season in his prime to preserve his long-term health and secure a big payday.Last month, Pittsburgh decided to not place the transition tag on Bell. That cleared the running back to become an unrestricted free agent when the NFL’s new year begins Wednesday. And the Jets pounced on a player they think can help Darnold take their offense to another level — despite the fact Bell hasn’t played since Pittsburgh’s playoff loss to Jacksonville on Jan. 14 Darron Lee Jerseys 2019 , 2018. That means it will be a span of 19 months in between game appearances by the time the preseason begins in August. The Steelers drafted Bell with the 48th overall pick in 2013. He combined with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and wide receiver Antonio Brown to form Pittsburgh’s “Killer B’s” on offense, a potent trio of game-breaking talents. With his patient running style and explosive burst, Bell quickly established himself as one of the best backs in the league. He was also a top pass-catcher out of the backfield, finishing 10th in the league with 85 catches in 2017. That combination of production had Bell focused on a contract that rewarded him like the dual threat he is.He and the Steelers failed to reach an agreement on a new deal last summer, and he skipped training camp for the second straight year. This time, though, he never returned to the team.Instead, he’ll join the Jets and look to re-establish himself as arguably the best overall running back in the game — and try to help a franchise that hasn’t been to the playoffs since the 2010 season get back to winning. The move to get Bell was the latest in a busy two days for general manager Mike Maccagnan and the Jets, who also have agreed to deals with linebacker C.J. Mosley, wide receivers Jamison Crowder and Josh Bellamy, and are re-signing defensive end Henry Anderson and backup cornerback Darryl Roberts. New York also acquired left guard Kelechi Osemele from Oakland over the weekend.

negotiations Phillip Gaines Jerseys 2019 , according to Phillips himself. He spoke with reporters in an interview that was published by The Buffalo News as part of locker clean-out day on Monday.“We’ve already been in negotiations,” Phillips said. “We’ve been keeping it under wraps.”The Buffalo Bills claimed Phillips after the Miami Dolphins waived him on October 3rd. Over the remaining 12 games of the season, Phillips was an active backup defensive tackle each week, averaging 36 percent of snaps per game. He recorded 19 tackles (two for loss), three passes defended, and a fumble recovery during that stretch. The Buffalo Bills have an opening at defensive tackle with Kyle Williams retiring. Star Lotulelei is locked in as the starting nose tackle, and rookie Harrison Phillips handled a backup role for both tackle positions. They’re the only returning players.Phillips noted that “the Bills are looking for a new 3-technique White Marshall Newhouse Jerseys , and I think I’m the best candidate.” Standing 6’6” and 341 pounds, Phillips doesn’t look like a typical three technique defensive tackle. With only 5.5 sacks in his first four seasons, he didn’t have the expected production for the position either. But his strength and hot motor would make him an effective rotational player, similar to the rookie Phillips, who could play anywhere between the offensive tackles as the situation required.Phillips is one of nine unrestricted free agents who finished the year on the Buffalo Bills roster. As the 2019 off-season circuit approaches, the Buffalo Bills have a mission: to bolster their play in the trenches and build up a playoff roster. Longtime defensive tackle Kyle Williams, who tallied five sacks in 2018 Marshall Newhouse Jerseys 2019 , is retiring. The only other defensive tackles under contract are Star Lotulelei and Harrison Phillips, who combined for zero sacks last year. On the offensive side, essentially the entire unit could see a makeover under newly-signed coach Bobby Johnson. That’s the mentality SB Nation’s Dan Kadar used when drafting for the Bills in his latest mock draft. Choosing between a few different options, Kadar ultimately went with the best player available in Ed Oliver.Dan’s take:Kadar’s not wrong—though offensive line is the more glaring need—a pass rushing three technique defensive tackle is right up there. Factor in that the 2019 draft is laden with talented defensive linemen, and it would be sensible to make such a selection—especially if free agency helps the Bills plug some holes in the roster.Oliver would be just what the doctor ordered to replace Williams. He’s ludicrously athletic, and has the anchor of a tree trunk despite weighing closer to 280 pounds. He’d give the team a Geno Atkins-esque disrupter in the middle. If a player with his caliber of talent is on the board with the ninth overall pick, Buffalo could afford waiting another day to add some offensive pieces for Josh Allen and Brian Daboll. Cody Ford is a valid option White Trent Murphy Jerseys , but he’s a right tackle that some scouts would rather see playing guard at the next level. That’s hard to justify in the top ten picks. Jeffery Simmons is another talented defensive lineman, with more prototypical size at 6’4” 300 pounds. He managed an impressive 29.0 tackles for loss over the past two seasons, but an incident in his history where Simmons hit a woman during an argument may remove him from Buffalo’s draft board entirely.

possession touchdown of the season. They did it in impressive fashion.Darius Jennings got Tennessee started off right White Eric Rowe Jerseys , with a 58-yard kickoff return to the New England 40. It took seven plays for the Titans to to the rest of the way.Marcus Mariota completed 2 of 3 passes for 28 yards, including a 4-yard touchdown toss to tight end Jonnu Smith. Smith had no touchdowns this season until Monday night and he now has two in six days.Dion Lewis had four carries for 12 yards against his former team on the first drive. The Patriots answered with a field goal after Josh Gordon dropped a third-down pass. Stephen Gostkowski kicked a 52-yard field goal with 9:19 remaining in the first quarter.Tom Brady went 3-for-6 for 41 yards. Gordon caught two passes for 44 yards, and James White lost 3 yards on his lone catch. The Patriots did not attempt a rush on their first drive. ATLANTA (AP) — Julian Edelman is certainly a compelling story.A diminutive guy with a bushy beard, picked in the final round of the draft, defying the odds to become one of the NFL’s top receivers. And, now, a Super Bowl MVP.But let’s not forget one other fairly important element to this story:He cheated.Edelman was honored Monday for his 10-catch, 141-yard performance the previous night, the only discernable bright spot offensively in a dreary Super Bowl won by the New England Patriots. Commissioner Roger Goodell — the same guy who said with a straight face five days earlier that Colin Kaepernick’s two-years-and-counting banishment from the league for protesting social injustice was merely a football decision made independently by 32 franchises — was all smiles as he handed Edelman his silver, football-shaped prize known as the Pete Rozelle Trophy.“Well deserved. Extraordinary performance, and not just last night, but his performance in postseason has been simply off the charts Eric Rowe Jerseys 2019 ,” Goodell said. “Julian, congratulations. Come on up and get your trophy.”There was no mention of Edelman being suspended for the first four games of the season after testing positive for a performance-enhancing substance. In his brief opening remarks, the receiver talked of the “ups and downs” the Patriots had been through, what he called “just the ebbs and flows of the season.”Then came the first question.“You missed last year (with a torn ACL), you come back this year and have a four-game suspension, talk about fighting back through adversity and coming out on the other end as the Super Bowl MVP,” the reporter said, a tone of admiration In his voice. “What did that mean to you, through all the work that you put in?”Coming off a serious knee injury, there’s no doubt Edelman worked extremely hard to make it back at age 32, when there was plenty of skepticism that he’d ever be as effective as he was before. But it’s also worth noting that Edelman gave his rehab an illicit boost by taking a PED, undoubtedly looking to improve the odds of returning to the field on the downside of his career.Edelman apologized for his mistake White LaAdrian Waddle Jerseys , expressed the usual confusion that all cheaters rely on when they’re caught, but never revealed the substance in question. He served the suspension and returned to put up roughly the same prorated numbers as he did in 2016, before his injury, catching 74 passes for 850 yards and six touchdowns over the final 12 games of the regular season. He was even better in the playoffs.Edelman hauled in nine catches for 151 yards in a divisional-round victory over the Los Angeles Chargers. He had seven receptions for 96 yards in the thrilling overtime triumph at Kansas City in the AFC championship game. Finally, he provided an offensive spark in the lowest-scoring Super Bowl ever, helping the Patriots knock off the Los Angeles Rams 13-3.Now, if Edelman was a Major League Baseball player or an Olympic athlete, he probably wouldn’t have had a chance to shine on the big stage. The MLB’s doping policy has a provision that prevents anyone who tests positive from taking part in the postseason that year, even if they’ve already served their full penalty. The extra sanction was added in 2014 after All-Stars Jhonny Peralta and Nelson Cruz returned from doping suspensions in time to participate in the playoffs, which rightfully angered other players. The World Anti-Doping Agency went down the same path, doubling the potential penalty for a first-time doping offender from two to four years, a way of ensuring that those blatantly caught cheating would have to miss the next Olympics. But the NFL has never shown it’s all that serious about stamping out doping LaAdrian Waddle Jerseys 2019 , nor has the players union. At the very least, those who test positive for PEDs should face an eight-game suspension — half the regular season — and a postseason ban. Stricter testing rules, in line with international standards, should also be imposed, perhaps in tandem with relaxed restrictions on pot use and approval of medical marijuana to help deal with the chronic pain so many current and former players must endure. Those of us in the media should also take a hard look at whether there are racial overtones to the way we look at those who violate the rules.Edelman faced little real criticism over his doping violation, perhaps because he’s usually gushed over with that convenient stereotype applied to so many white players: undersized, not as talented as those around him, someone who makes up for it with his intelligence and work ethic. There are undoubtedly fans, and perhaps even members of the media, who feel Edelman was merely showing just how dedicated he is to the game by doing whatever it took to get back on the field after a serious injury. He was rightly lauded for his accomplishments — but let’s not forget that other thing. He cheated.

declined to work with the defensive backs at the Scouting Combine White Jonathan Stewart Jerseys , saying he’s a quarterback, period. McSorley’s highest-profile college teammate isn’t happy that he was even asked.Giants running back Saquon Barkley, who played with McSorley at Penn State, took to Twitter when he saw the report that NFL personnel people wanted McSorley to change positions.“So disrespectful,” Barkley wrote. But the reality is, there’s nothing disrespectful about asking a player to change positions. Players are asked to change positions all the time, and there have been dozens of college quarterbacks who played a different position in the NFL. Among the notables are Julian Edelman, Brian Mitchell, Antwaan Randle El, Braxton Miller, Blake Bell, Michael Robinson, Matt Jones, Denard Robinson, Jerick McKinnon, Brad Smith, and Josh Cribbs.McSorley was the fastest quarterback at this year’s Combine, but he wasn’t a great passer at Penn State. When you’re a fast quarterback but not a great passer, you’re going to be asked to change positions. There’s nothing disrespectful about that. Good morning, New York Giants fans! The 1-5, drama-ridden, Giants are an easy target for critics these days. On Friday, WFAN’s Mike Francesa and NFL analyst Phil Simms were among those taking aim.Francesa: “Half a decade of garbage football”Known for his epic rants, Francesa opened his Friday show by lambasting the Giants. He said they “stink,” have “become a bad football organization” and have produced “half a decade of garbage football.” Here’s more:Honestly, it’s hard to disagree with any of that.Simms: Eli done as a big-time QBSpeaking with host Chris Russo on his Sirius XM Mad Dog sports radio channel, Simms was frank in his assessment of Eli Manning. Russo asked him if Manning was “done as a big-time starting quarterback.”Simms’ response: “As a big-time starting quarterback? Yes. OK, when you phrase it that way, as a big-time starter he is. Here’s how I look at it. I’ve said it many times during the offseason. The Giants built this team for this year for Eli Manning to have success. That’s what they did. They re-did basically the whole offensive line. They’ve signed Odell Beckham, Jr. They bring in an offensive coach, the defensive coach. Everything was there. They draft Saquon Barkley Jonathan Stewart Jerseys 2019 , which is a great deal. We saw the kid can be great, we know that. So it’s all set up. Sterling Shepard, a good second receiver. Evan Engram, we know he’s hurt, but it’s all there because we want the quarterback to do well, and it’s not working out.”Russo also asked Simms whether Manning or the offensive line should get more blame.“Well, it’s always a combination. The line has not been great. But, you know, the last couple of weeks there’s opportunity to stand there and throw the ball. I gotta tell you I’m disappointed in a few things. One, they’re not getting the football down the field. There have been opportunities they’ve passed up. That’s one. The other is they’re not moving the quarterback even close to what I – and you’ve heard me say this – but they’re not moving him enough,” Simms said. “I mean, you can’t just drop back in the NFL and stand there. And there’s got to be more deception. “The last and most important, I watched Phillip Rivers this week, I watch Tom Brady every week, I watch all these guys every week. And I’m watching Phillip Rivers going, ‘Look at him.’ Now, I know he has a better line and he’s got a set of really terrific receivers. But he is scrambling, outside the pocket, moving, he’s great in the pocket moving. Tom Brady is truly great in the pocket. And I just don’t see that enough from the Giants with Eli and that’s a big problem.”Around the Inter-GoogleEli Manning playing like an old QB who’s past his primeSaquon Barkley tried to save Eli Manning from himself, tried to single-handedly save the Giants season. On a night when Barkley showed you all the electrifying...Giants need to end Eli Manning era after dismal showing vs. Eagles | SI.comWith every screen pass and every ball that barely traveled past the line of scrimmage on Thursday night, it became clear that Eli Manning’s time in New York is nearing its end.Giants are a sick organization right nowIt took about 15 minutes for the Mets to reveal themselves as a one-trick pony this year. FLORHAM PARK White Bilal Powell Jerseys , N.J. (AP) — Sam Darnold is getting closer to being back under center for the New York Jets. The rookie quarterback was limited at practice Wednesday, a positive sign after he had sat out team drills since injuring his right foot more than three weeks ago.“Felt really good today, got some action,” Darnold said after practice. “So, I’m just going to continue to do what I can to get better and see where we go from here.”Darnold acknowledged his foot was “a little sore,” but has his sights set on being ready to play Sunday at Tennessee after missing the Jets’ past two games.“I’m hopeful,” he said. “But at the same time, just seeing how I feel every single day, assess it after every practice and we’ll go from there.”Darnold strained his foot against Miami on Nov. 4 and hadn’t previously thrown passes during quarterback drills during the half-hour window the media are allowed to watch until Wednesday. He said he took some snaps in team periods, and he and the team will continue to assess the injury throughout the week.Darnold added that he had no issues with planting his foot or running. The team was scheduled to check in with him later Wednesday and again in the morning Thursday before practice to determine the next step.“Yeah, definitely coming back after today and actually practicing on it being on it today, cutting and doing my drops, I’m interested in seeing how it feels tomorrow,” he said. “I’m pretty optimistic about it, though.”Coach Todd Bowles was encouraged that Darnold was able to do more than he did last week during practice.“We’ll see how the week goes,” Bowles said. “He did a little bit today. We’ll see how he progresses during the week.”Darnold didn’t feel all that rusty despite the long layoff from practice.“It felt pretty normal, for the most part Bilal Powell Jerseys 2019 ,” he said. “Yeah, there were some times where I felt like my feet weren’t necessarily quick enough, but that just comes with a couple of more practices. But I felt really good, for the most part.”Josh McCown has started the Jets’ past two games, but was also limited as he deals with a sore back and right hand, which he cut during New York’s loss to New England last Sunday.“It’s coming along,” McCown said of his back and hand. “Just taking it a day at a time and just following the steps that they tell me to go through to get back and get ready to go.”McCown was still the first quarterback taking snaps during quarterback drills, followed by Darnold and Davis Webb. The 39-year-old veteran has thrown one touchdown pass and three interceptions while filling in for Darnold.Darnold still leads the NFL with 14 interceptions despite missing two games, and struggled in the three games he played before his injury. The No. 3 overall draft pick has had to balance making sure he’s completely healthy with being eager to get back on the field — even lobbying to play — to finish his rookie season on a positive note.“Yeah, I want to play really bad,” he said. “But at the same time, I know that it’s a process and I’ve just got to go about protocol and understand exactly what I need to do to get better.”NOTES: Darnold prompted some loud chuckles from reporters when he was asked about the helicopter hit McCown took to cap a 10-yard run for a first down in the third quarter against New England. “It was funny because right when that happened, Davis on the sideline, he buckles his chin strap. It was funny to see Josh kind of go after it because we all know the competitor that he is, so that was awesome.” … S Marcus Maye didn’t practice with shoulder and thumb injuries. Bowles did not rule out the second-year safety ending up on injured reserve. … WR Robby Anderson (ankle) and RB Trenton Cannon (hamstring) also didn’t practice. … WR Quincy Enunwa (ankle) and LB Jordan Jenkins (shoulder) were limited.Todd Bowles’ Game Management Decisions in Jacksonville Were Inexcusable There were a lot of things that went wrong in Jacksonville for the Jets that could be attributed to coaching. Failure to adjust. Tentative gameplanning. More boneheaded penalties in key spots. All of the classic issues were there. However, Todd Bowles made a pair of game management decisions in this game that were downright awful.12:56 to go in the 4th, Jets down 25-3 White Trevor Siemian Jerseys , 4th & 8 at the Jaguars 20, Jets kick field goalThe Jets were down by 22 points with 13 minutes to go in the game. Kicking a field goal would cut the lead from three scores to three scores. They would still need to score three more times to at least tie the game if they made this field goal attempt. Kicking a field goal here made absolutely no sense - it did not shred into the lead a single bit. The only benefit was that instead of having to score 3 touchdowns with a two point conversion on one of them, the Jets could now tie the game with a field goal and 2 touchdowns with a two point conversion on both. Wow. Beneficial. You’re actually asking the team to convert more scores that way, asking for 5 instead of 4 if you include the difficulty of converting a two-point attempt. Now, how bad exactly was this decision based on history?According to Pro Football Reference, since 1994 (as far back as tracking data is available), there have been 285 plays run in this scenario of 4th down & 8 or less, in the red zone, in the 4th quarter, down by 20 points or more (field goal would not cut the lead to less than 3 scores). In those situations, teams have gone for it 271/285 times - 95%. Bowles kicked a field goal in a situation where only 5% of teams deemed it the right decision. In fact, since Bowles was hired, there have been 43 plays run leaguewide in this scenario, and a field goal has been the decision only 2 times out of those 43.Bowles was the coach to make that call on both (kicking in a loss vs. Miami in 2016).He is the only coach in the league who has made this decision since he was hired by the Jets. And he has done it twice.4:33 to go in the 4th, Jets down 25-12, 4th & 6 at the Jets 20. Jets puntAt this point, the Jets had a very marginal chance of winning the game Trevor Siemian Jerseys 2019 , but this decision was just punting away whatever slim chance was left. The Jets were only down two scores at this point. If they could miraculously pull out a quick score in a minute or less, there was time to get a stop and get the ball back with a chance to tie or win the game.Punting milks at least a minute off the clock and/or costs multiple timeouts, and gives your team the ball back in likely the same or similar field position without the time assets just mentioned. It’s nonsensical to make that move here. It displays either a lack of understanding of how to maximize the team’s chances of winning the game, or a complete lack of faith in the team to win it.(Doesn’t it sound like we’ve discussed this before?)Since 1994, 16 teams had been in a similar situation prior to the Jets’ game in Jacksonville. I defined the scenario as the final 5 minutes of the 4th quarter, 4th down & 6 or less to go, team is inside their own 20, and down by 2 scores (losing by 9 to 16 points). In those situations, teams went for it 15 out of 16 times, punting only once. That’s 94%. Bowles made himself only the second coach to punt in that situation over the past two decades-plus. It was last done by Andy Reid’s Eagles in 2005.Bowles also punted in a very similar situation in a loss at Denver last year, punting the ball away trailing 23-0 with 4:39 to go. If you extend the scenario to include plays in which the team was down by more than 2 scores, Bowles is one of only three head coaches since 1994 to make that punt call twice - along with Steve Spagnuolo (2009 & 2011 with the Rams) and Eric Mangini (2009 with the Browns). So if differentiation is what you are looking for in a head coach, Bowles has certainly brought it. You can’t say he hasn’t bucked the trends.

has perfect practice attendance Football season is right around the corner White Patrick Chung Jerseys , which means that the NFL’s teams have started releasing their injury reports for the regular season. Earlier today, the New England Patriots and Houston Texans published their first ones of the year and it gives us insight into the two teams’ present injury situations. Let’s take a look:Did not participateWhile the Texans had one of their late training camp pickups missing today – Webster ended last season on injured reserve due to an Achilles injury and is still not fully ready –, the Patriots had perfect attendance: offensive tackle Trent Brown returned after being absent yesterday, and the rest of the team was also present for the session.Limited participationSeeing Sony Michel on the list of limited Patriots does not come as a surprise: while he returned to practice last week, he missed a month of action before that due to his injury. Ja’Whaun Bentley, Duke Dawson and Jacob Hollister, meanwhile, have all looked good over the course of the summer and were projected to earn key rotational roles with the team. It could be another week before this projection turned into a reality. The biggest name on the Texans’ list of limited players is Whitney Mercilus. The former Pro Bowler, who spent most of 2017 on injured reserve, is projected to start for Houston’s defense. How much action he will actually see considering his status as a limited participant today remains to be seen.Full participationAs was reported over the weekend, starting right tackle Marcus Cannon is expected to be ready for opening week. Today’s injury status confirms this – and the same goes for key special teamer and reserve safety Nate Ebner as well. Both should see plenty of action on Sunday. The New England Patriots have set a benchmark for divisional dominance in the NFL for nearly two decades.Their mastery of the AFC East with coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady leading the way 鈥?10 straight titles and 16 in 19 seasons since 2000 鈥?has proven to be somewhat of a double-edged sword for its division opponents. It's the curse that haunts them and the engine that drives them."New England is the team that teams want to be," 22-year-old Bills rookie quarterback Josh Allen said after Sunday's 24-12 loss in Foxborough gave New England its latest division crown.Allen is new to the scene Patrick Chung Jerseys 2019 , but he has already had a taste of the Patriots dynasty that has beleaguered the Bills. And, the New York Jets. And, the Miami Dolphins. In all, the Patriots have won the division 21 times. The Dolphins were the last non-New England team to win the AFC East in 2008 鈥?the same season Brady missed all but one game after tearing knee ligaments in the opener. The last of the Jets' four division wins came in 2002.Buffalo's most recent of its 10 division titles came in 1995. The Bills were also the last AFC East team to string together consecutive division championships, doing so in four straight seasons from 1988 to 1991.Since the AFC East's inception in 1960, no team has done what New England has during its recent run. The Dolphins came closest, winning five of their 14 titles consecutively from 1981-85 and 10 in 15 years."I think every team wants to (emulate them)," Allen said. "Obviously, they've got one of the greatest coaches to ever coach and one of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game of football. ... So, obviously, that's what we want to be."Just about the only thing working against the Patriots is time.Brady is now 41 years old and in his 19th season. Belichick, 66 White Duron Harmon Jerseys , is four decades into an NFL coaching career during which he has won seven Super Bowls, five as a head coach in New England.Yet the Patriots still find themselves a Week 17 win against the Jets away from clinching a first-round bye in the playoffs, ensuring them an all-important extra week of rest and at least one more game in Foxborough."We still have one hugely important game left," Brady said. "We have to finish strong."Unlike years past, the Patriots' road to the AFC East crown hasn't been as easy. Their five losses are the most for any Patriots team since going 10-6 in 2009 and losing to the Baltimore Ravens in the wild-card round.Off-field issues such as the abrupt departure of midseason acquisition Josh Gordon, who was suspended indefinitely by the NFL last Thursday for another violation of the league's substance abuse policy, have made the road even tougher."Every team goes through things," Belichick said during a conference call Monday. "When you play football for five months, things happen that you have to deal with as a team and we all have to deal with individually. So, I can't imagine a season where that would ever not be the case."It's becoming harder to imagine a season that doesn't end with the Patriots on top of the AFC East, as well.

preseason high ankle sprain he suffered. The New York Giants linebacker practiced twice last week and has practiced this week. What does he need to show if he is to play Sunday against the Carolina Panthers?“Prove to myself is the number one priority Patrick Omameh Jerseys 2019 , but then also showing them [coaches] that I’m capable of making certain plays that you don’t want to be a liability out there,” Vernon said. “It’s just basically showing the coaches you’re capable of making the cuts when you have to or inside stunts and stuff like that.”Defensive tackle Damon Harrison said Thursday that getting Vernon back would mean “everything” to the defense.“That’s the terminator. OV can do it all. Can provide some much needed pass rush, as well as be strong on the edges,” Harrison said. “I think that’s not a discredit to the other guys. OV is just a different animal.”Mike Shula’s take on the struggling offenseOn Odell Beckham Jr. not having any touchdowns yet:“I think that just comes in a natural play of the game. I don’t think if we try to start forcing the ball to get anybody touchdowns, I think you run into some risky business, so to speak. I think that he’s very talented. He’s going to get the ball. He’s going to get us in the end zone. He’s going to get in the end zone. More importantly, we need to score more, however we do it. Whether or not it’s Odell, or (RB) Saquon (Barkley), whoever it is. We just need to get down there number one, and finish drives. It’s all about scoring points.”On why Eli Manning’s high rate of completions hasn’t led to more points:“I think that we’re close. It hasn’t been good enough yet. I know coach has mentioned this, too, I know Eli has mentioned it, we’ve had some plays that have set us back penalty wise, or a negative play that has maybe been one of the reasons why we’ve stalled the drives. The completion percentage is big. Obviously, you want the ball caught every time and thrown to the right guy. A quarterback’s job is to do three things: throw it to the right guy, get the ball there on time, and get the ball there accurately. Whether or not that guy is 20 yards down the field or five yards down the field, just keep the chains moving forward, and then we feel like if we do that and stay on the field, with our athletes, we’re going to get the ball in the end zone.”Ray-Ray Armstrong emergingArmstrong, in theory a backup inside linebacker has played 151 snaps thus far while starter B.J. Goodson has played only 101.“One of the things with Ray-Ray is, I love the ability and flexibility that guys have as whether they can come cover back, whether they can blitz off the edge, whether they can cover in space. I think the way the game has changed is we’ve all seen a change over the last few years, is the game has become so horizontal, so spread out, that you have to be able to do those things in space and I think Ray-Ray is getting an opportunity to play right now,” said defensive coordinator James Bettcher. “For B.J., he’s just got to keep playing, keep working. I love his mindset, I love his work ethic, (he’s a) physical guy. We’re not down on B.J., I think Ray-Ray has played a little bit better to this point, and he’s going to continue to get his chances.”‘Snacks:’ Defense needs an identityHarrison isn’t yet sure what the Giants are on defense.“I’m still trying to figure out what we are on defense. I think we somewhat have established our identity as a team. A tough unit, a physical unit, but we just don’t complete ballgames in it’s entirety. I think that’s just something we have to work on.”Around the Inter-GoogleWayne Gallman reflects on the loss of his old Clemson teammate C.J. While the 1-3 record is a bit of a disappointment, there’s been some optimism around the rookie class. With that in mind, we can take a look at how each of the Giants’ rookies have performed through the first four weeks of the season.Saquon BarkleySo far the second overall pick has been as advertised. Barkley has been able to break a big play, but the Giants also have the fourth-highest rate of runs that have gained negative yards. He’s fifth in the league in touches and seventh in yards from scrimmage.Barkley is second in Football Outsiders’ rushing DYAR and sixth in DVOA, while the Giants’ offensive line ranks 31st in adjusted line yards and averages just 2.0 rushing yards before contact. His standard success rate, which uses the percentage of yards needed that were gained, is 43 percent per Football Outsiders, which ranks 23rd among 38 running backs with at least 32 carries. Barkley’s success rate by EPA — the percentage of runs that have positive expected points added — is just 35.6 percent.Through four weeks, the repeated sentiment from the offseason has held true — Barkley has been excellent, but it doesn’t matter without other pieces of a functional offense. He has at least 100 yards from scrimmage in all four games this season, but those yards haven’t been able to spark the offense single-handedly. Barkley’s win probability added totals negative-8.6 percent on running plays and just 3.9 percent on passing plays. He’s been worth minus-2.21 expected points added on the ground just 2.0 through the air.One place where Barkley’s usage could continue to improve is how he’s used in the passing game. If he’s used more in the slot or the outside or even just in front of the line of scrimmage White Mario Edwards Jerseys , he could be put in more space to do more damage. Over half of Barkley’s targets have come behind the line of scrimmage and 83 percent of his targets have come no further than two yards down the field. That’s fine for a normal running back, but Barkley wasn’t drafted to be a normal running back. Instead of running the ball with Barkley on first down, throw it to him. These issues aren’t the fault of Barkley, but they come with trying to get the most efficient use out of a running back picked second overall. Will HernandezHernandez has gotten better each week. He was at fault for some of the pressures against the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 1, but that could be said of all five offensive linemen who played in that game. Hernandez was expected to be a force in the run game, and that’s come already. Per Sharp Football Stats, Barkley’s highest success rate has come running behind the left guard.source: Sharp Football StatsThis holds up by EPA, too. Among the run gaps, Barkley only has positive EPA behind the right and left guards. But he’s been much better behind the left guard — eight carries, 6.1 EPA (0.76 average), and 62.5 percent success rate — than right guard — 10 carries, 1.17 EPA (0.12 average), and 40 percent success rate. But where he’s really developed is in the passing game, a welcome addition to a line that desperately needed it. Hernandez has been able to use his strength to keep defenders away from the quarterback, but his situational awareness has also been an important factor to his early success. He never looks lost on a play, again a welcome trait along this line.Take this play here against the Saints this past week. There’s pre-snap communication between Manning, Hernandez, center John Greco, and left tackle Nate Solder. They recognize a blitz is probably coming from No. 24 and they adjust the protection for it. At the snap, Hernandez kicked to his left — where two rushers are likely to come from, and they do — but he also prepared himself to adjust in case the defensive tackle to his right came at him. Still, he was able to take the defensive end who looped to him and kept him away from the quarterback. It’s something relatively simple — having clear communication and knowing the assignment — but there’s a low bar to be judged against for this offensive line. Though even without grading on a curve, Hernandez has continued to be excellent. Lorenzo CarterLorenzo Carter has been given a bigger role than previously expected because of the injury to Olivier Vernon through the first four weeks of the season. Carter has played 40.6 percent of the defensive snaps as the No. 3 edge rusher behind Kareem Martin and Connor Barwin.Carter has always been a good athlete — he had the No. 2 speed score and was No. 1 in SPARQ among this year’s class of edge rushers — but he hasn’t always been able to translate that athleticism into production. That was the case in college when he had just 14.5 sacks in four years and it still remains something to work on in the NFL.At Georgia, Carter had a role that was more of a traditional linebacker who could rush the passer. But so far with the Giants, Carter has transitioned to full-time edge rusher — he has just three snaps in coverage against the pass this season. When Carter can use his speed, good things can happen.Against the Houston Texans, Carter had a pressure by lining up in a wide-9 technique, running full speed at right tackle Julie’n Davenport and flushing Dashaun Waston out of the pocket. He got his lone sack of the season by fighting Davenport to the outside, then beating him around the edge. But there are still times when he doesn’t really have a move and can easily be stopped by an opposing tackle like he was in many cases against the New Orleans— here against Ryan Ramczyk.Carter is second on the team with three quarterback hits and he’s already matched his four-year college total with one pass breakup. He wasn’t supposed to get this much time on the field this early and we’ll see how or if his role changes with the return of Vernon, but there have been signs of development in this time with room for much more. B.J. HillThroughout training camp, Hill was a breakout star. He was treated as a clear-cut starter in the preseason and played limited snaps. He hasn’t really been given that role in the regular season, though. Through four games, he’s played just 32.8 percent of the defensive snaps. But, Hill has made an impact when he’s on the field. He leads the team with two sacks — one each of the past two weeks — and he’s done it from the interior and the edge. He also moves extremely well for a 300-plus pound lineman. Against the Saints, he got his sack when he and Dalvin Tomlinson were 2-on-1 against the center which eventually gave Hill a clear run to Drew Brees. It wasn’t beating a blocker like his sack on the edge against Houston, but there are not many interior defenders who would have been able to close on Brees as Hill did.Like Carter, Hill could see his playing time decrease even more with the addition of Josh Mauro, who is returning from a four-game suspension. But while that scenario could help Carter with his development, Hill has already shown he should be getting more playing time than what he’s already been given. The othersKyle Lauletta, the Giants’ fourth-round pick, has not been on the active game day roster yet, so he’s no immediate threat to take over at quarterback. But should the Giants continue to struggle on offense, it would not be a surprise to see him get a look during the second half of the season.Fifth-round pick R.J. McIntosh has been on the reserve/non-football illness list since the beginning of September. He likely won’t see any action until 2019.Sean Chandler, an undrafted rookie safety out of Temple, was a surprise player to make the roster out of training camp. He’s only been in on one defensive snap (he made a tackle) but has played over half of the team’s special teams snaps.Tae Davis, an undrafted linebacker out of Tennessee-Chatanooga, has not seen the field on defense, but has played on 36 special teams snaps.

prepare to face a new opponent each week White Trent Murphy Jerseys , fans take on the age-old arch-nemesis know as “hunger.” Never fear, Buffalo Rumblings has just the playbook to take down this foe. Each week, we’ll dive into enemy territory to scout their signature moves and put a “Buffalo” spin on it. Translated, each week we’ll share a themed recipe based on who the Bills are playing, including a custom wing sauce to go with each dish. Our opponent this week:Tennessee TitansSlow-Cooked Pulled BBQ Chicken: Having been to Nashville one time for a conference at work, I proclaim myself wholly expert on their sauce techniques. OK, maybe not, but I did eat a lot of it. While my expertise may be in doubt, the beauty of BBQ sauce is the sheer volume of great ways to make it. For this week, we take a simple sauce recipe and steer it the way of Nashville, as defined by research and impressions from when I was there. The name of the game is “sweet,” with a sauce that feels right at home being cooked with the meat or used as a condiment to finish the deal. And of course we’ll wing it up notch with some hot sauce. We’re using a slow cooker as they’re commonly available. The sauce can easily be used on chicken cooked in other ways. Reduce heat to LOW.Add chicken to slow cooker, cover.Allow sauce to thicken, about 30 minutes, stirring frequently.Add sauce to slow cooker and cover. Reduce heat to LOW and let cook for 8 hours.***Shred chicken with fork and serve.Wingin’ It Tips:*You’ll need one cup of something altogether sugary. Feel free to adjust the brown sugar and honey ratios, all the way to using one or the other exclusively.**It’s unlikely you’ll find a package of chicken that’s exactly one pound. For this amount of sauce, I’d recommend buying a little over if given the choice. All the way up to 1 1鈦? lb should be fine.***It can be helpful to flip the chicken once or twice during the cooking process. For a thicker sauce, leave the slow cooker set to “HIGH” for two hours before turning to lowThe Beer: As you may have gathered from the ingredient list Trent Murphy Jerseys 2019 , BBQ sauce is a quick way to spike the ol’ sugar levels. To help balance that out, a lighter beer pairs nicely. Beer products provided by Labatt USA. Please drink responsibly. Coming soon! The Buffalo Bills face the Houston Texans next week and as we all know Texas is widely renowned for its...BBQ. There’s nothing wrong with two weeks of BBQ, right? Since it’ll be recent memory and all, for the Houston installment we’ll focus more on how to make it your own and work in some different techniques.Buffalo Bills film room: Josh Allen nails the post-wheel concept The Buffalo Bills blew out the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, but as they took an early lead, any confidence felt tenuous at best. An opening touchdown drive was impressive, but aided by two personal foul penalties, and a fumble recovery only led to three points. When the Bills recovered a second strip-sack, it felt like the only way they could keep the Vikings at bay would be to capitalize on the possession with another touchdown. And that’s just what Brian Daboll and Josh Allen delivered, with a pass to tight end Jason Croom. Before running this play, the Bills had passed once to a running back in the flats, and had a receiver in the flats on three of their first five passing plays. As such, the Vikings were looking for that sort of movement, especially when the Bills fell behind schedule and would conceivably look to gain easy yardage on second-and-11. Minnesota, seeing Buffalo’s pre-snap motion, dialed up a Cover-3 “sky” look. In the GIF below, see how two Vikings point to the sky as the ball is snapped. They see the running back in motion and want to aggressively attack the flat to try and take Buffalo out of field goal range. Instead, the Bills score a touchdown. Josh Allen makes a great show of looking to the flat, then quickly resets and throws to his wide open tight end. This is a great example of a coverage beater in football. The outside cornerback is in a bind—in a Cover-3, he should be covering a deep third of the field. But if he drops vertically, then there’s a risk that the post receiver will come open before reaching the center fielder. So the corner wants to bracket the receiver and follow him to the safety. But with this route combination, the wheel man will be open behind the outside corner. A safety or linebacker will have difficulty trailing any slot receiver down the sideline on that route, and when the action in the flat naturally draws the curl-flat safety toward the line of scrimmage White Chris Ivory Jerseys , it’s easy pickings. Here’s the same play, this time from the end zone angle. You can see how the post receiver pulls his cornerback along toward the safety, opening up room for Croom. This is a concept that’s been useful for decades, and it’s in vogue right now in the NFL. Here’s a great breakdown from Chris Brown in 2012, when Dana Holgorsen employed it in a record-smashing offense at West Virginia. Now, what gave this play extra significance was that it represented an area of growth from Allen between Week 2 and Week 3. The Bills ran this exact same concept against the Chargers, but Allen flubbed it. It was clear, in watching his execution on Sunday, that Allen did his homework after losing to Los Angeles, and drilled himself on properly reading this concept.Yes, the play ultimately ended with a 57-yard completion to Zay Jones. Still, this is an example of bad process, good results. Jones was wide open for most of this play, had to turn around to catch the pass, and the ball could have been intercepted. If Allen were more decisive and knew which players to read, he would’ve had a first down or a touchdown with ease.In Week three, we saw a more confident Allen on the field, and he shocked the Vikings (and Las Vegas) with an efficient, accurate quarterback performance. It was a positive stride for the rookie, and engenders hope that he’ll keep learning from his mistakes as his career continues.

For those unfamiliar, the run line in baseball is similar to the spread in football. The run line in an MLB game is 1.5 runs. A gambler will place a wager on the favored team to win by two runs or more Nolan Ryan Jersey , or the underdog team to lose by one run or to win the game. The strategy for this spring training system is straightforward: bet non-playoff road teams against a postseason participant from the previous season. This system works for a few reasons. For starters, home-field advantage is often overrated in the regular season and doesn exist in spring training as these exhibition games are not played in home stadiums.Plus, by betting non-playoff teams you are almost always (96% of game matches) taking the underdog on the run line. Exhibition games are random, which means underdogs have a greater chance to win. Some will call you a degenerate for wagering on spring training games, but the results for this system have been consistent. Since 2013, bettors following this strategy have gone 370-171 (68.4%) on the run line and have been profitable every year since we began tracking spring training games. GOODYEAR http://www.indiansfanproshop.com/authentic-b.j.-upton-jersey , Ariz. (AP) — Shane Bieber’s last name draws an immediate connection to a more famous global pop superstar, and playful teasing from his teammates. As a rookie last season, Bieber often endured taunts about singer Justin Bieber — the other “Biebs.”“They’d just get angry at me after I’m talking smack or whatever and say ‘All right, Justin,'” Bieber said with a laugh following a recent morning workout at training camp. “That’s kind of they’re go-to.”Well, while the confident right-hander won’t match Justin Bieber’s commercial success or his number of Twitter followers or ever be the subject of endless Hollywood tabloid headlines, Cleveland’s Bieber is making a pretty good name for himself. These days, the joking from his teammates has subsided.A fourth-round pick in 2016, Bieber shot through the Indians’ farm system and became one of the team’s steadiest starters in just his third pro season. After beginning 2018 at Double-A Akron, he was promoted to Triple-A Columbus and wound up making 19 starts for the Indians, going 11-5 with a 4.55 ERA.“He’s had a lot thrown at him in a hurry,” Indians manager Terry Francona said. “You want guys to make adjustments and he did a lot of that on the fly last year, it was fun to watch.”From the moment he arrived in the majors, Bieber looked like he belonged. In 20 games Corey Kluber Jersey , he struck out 118 while allowing just 23 walks in 114 2/3 innings. Bieber’s 5.1 strikeout-to-walk ratio ranked among the top 10 in the league, behind All-Stars Justin Verlander, Chris Sale and teammate Corey Kluber.Beyond his impressive statistics, the 23-year-old Bieber displayed a veteran’s composure, something he attributes to his development at the University of California-Santa Barbara.“We were big on the mental side of the game,” said Bieber, who helped the Gauchos reach the 2016 College World Series. “And just being able to stay poised and confident, especially when things go wrong.”One place he saw things go wrong during last season was through the later innings of games, particularly facing batters for the third and fourth times through the order. Francona believes adjustments made to Bieber’s changeup — a pitch he used less than four percent of the time last season according to Statcast — will help.“Not just for the third time through the order but when he falls behind a lefty, he got a little predictable,” Francona said. “He’s trying to find a grip (on the changeup) where he can soften it up a little bit.”Bieber got off to a strong start in his spring exhibition debut Wednesday, retiring all six Milwaukee hitters he faced in Cleveland’s 6-1 win.Over the past few weeks, Bieber has become more familiar with the Indians Player Development Complex. This is his first time spending all spring in a big league camp, an experience he was fully prepared for last year but never got the invite.“Guys are kind of looking at me like it’s not my first Ricky Vaughn Jersey ,” said Bieber, who did enough last season to be added to the postseason roster. “They’re like, ‘Oh shoot, it’s actually your first? Maybe I shouldn’t be asking you where to go,’ because I’m just trying to follow the crowd and not be too much of a greenie.”He may still be learning the lay of the land in Arizona, but Bieber is very comfortable when it comes to helping the three-time reigning AL Central champions win. With an adjusted change now in his arsenal plus improved breaking balls, Bieber will be counted on as a vital fifth starter in one of baseball’s best rotations.“He deserves to be where he is. He earned it,” Francona said. “We tell the young guys, you know, we don’t want you just to get called up, we want you to get called up and help us win. There’s a difference.”And even a well-known last name won’t help. A look at what’s happening around the majors Sunday:SHO TIMEAngels rookie Shohei Ohtani is set to pitch again, and will start at night against the Astros at Minute Maid Park. The two-way sensation from Japan hasn’t been on the mound in the majors since spraining the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow nearly three months ago.Ohtani excelled in his first nine starts before getting hurt, going 4-1 with a 3.10 ERA. He’s continued to do well at the plate as a designated hitter.Gerrit Cole (12-5, 2.85) starts for AL West-leading Houston.ACESIt’s a marquee matchup at Citizens Bank Park when Aaron Nola (15-3 Michael Brantley Jersey , 2.10 ERA) starts for playoff-contending Philadelphia vs. lefty Jon Lester (14-5, 3.67) and the NL Central-leading Cubs. Nola has given up more than two runs just once in his last 12 starts, building his case for the Cy Young Award.START HIM UPTwins manager Paul Molitor says he will use a reliever as the starter in the series finale at Texas, and is leaning toward lefty Gabriel Moya. Molitor said Zack Littell, who has been with Triple-A Rochester since early July, likely will be used as the next pitcher. It would be the 23-year-old Moya’s first career start after 31 relief appearances over two seasons. Moya pitched a scoreless inning Friday in a 10-7 win. Littell, a 22-year-old righty, made his major league debut in June and was primarily a starter in the minors.“I talked to Zack today about it and I gave him a little heads-up before I talked to the pitchers as a whole, just in case you guys were asked about what he was going to do and he didn’t know,” Molitor said. “I think he said two or three times where he’s gone through it.”AILINGGiants shortstop Brandon Crawford has missed two straight starts. Manager Bruce Bochy says Crawford has a sore left knee, among other minor ailments.

He was inducted into the Hall of Fame the same year and died in 1941.Steigler originally inherited the items from Lou Gehrig’s mother, Christina. Steigler and her husband, George, were longtime friends with Christina Gehrig when she and her husband, Heinrich, lived in the New York suburb of Mamaroneck.Sometime after Heinrich Gehrig died in 1946, Christina went to live with the Steiglers in Milford, Connecticut. Christina Gehrig stayed with them for several years until they helped her get her own place in Milford. When she died in 1954, she left part of the collection of her son’s memorabilia in her will to the Steiglers.Bob Ellis married Jill in 1964 http://www.bluejaysfanproshop.com/authentic-curtis-granderson-jersey , and got the ball and hat from his mother-in-law over the years. The rest of the items were kept in a safe in the Steiglers’ house. After George Steigler died, Jill encouraged her mother to decide what she ultimately wanted to do with the collection. So, in 1998, Laurel Steigler divided the items between Jill and brother Kenny, who sold what he received in 2001, according to Bob Ellis. The rest remained in Laurel Steigler’s safe until she died in 2014, when Ellis said the safe was transferred to his house. The items remained untouched until two years ago. Ellis then came across letters, signed checks, a copy of a 1930 speech, a signed car registration and all the photographs.“That’s when we were like, wow, look at all this stuff that was available that we never paid attention to,” Ellis said.Since his son and daughter weren’t interested in the items, Ellis thought about selling the collection. When he attended a meeting of baseball enthusiasts in Derby, Connecticut, called the Silver Sluggers last August, Ellis said group host Rich Marazzi — a rules consultant for major league teams — encouraged him to contact Heritage Auctions. The following month, Ellis and his son, Scott, met with Heritage representatives in New York to determine which items had value. The Gehrig hat was certified by Mears, one of the leading memorabilia authentication companies, and estimated to be worth at least $200,000.“It’s the finest condition Gehrig cap that’s ever come to market Russell Martin Jersey ,” said Chris Ivy, Heritage’s director of sports auctions. “The condition on it is just astounding. It pretty much looks exactly like it did when Gehrig wore it in the ’30s.”Ellis said the hat is big hit whenever shown at group meetings.“I offered to let people take a picture with the hat on and that absolutely was a highlight for those people.” he said. “Most of which were older people and they knew the legacy of Gehrig. A couple people told me that to take that picture to their senior citizen group the next week was the thrill of a lifetime.”The ball signed by the four Hall of Famers was valued by Heritage at $20,000, and the photographs range from $100 to at least $4,000.Ellis said he and his wife plan to give some of the money from the items to their son, daughter and three grandchildren.“There’s no intention for us to go and take crazy trips,” he said. FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — Alex Cora guided the Boston Red Sox to a franchise-record 108 wins and a World Series victory last season, and then he reported to his second spring training as a major league manager as if nothing had changed.Still just 43, Cora has a chance to be the first Red Sox manager to win back-to-back championships in more than 100 years. And he’s approaching it with the same, unruffled demeanor as when he was a rookie.“I think that’s why we were so consistent last year,” utilityman Brock Holt said this week as the team made the transition from workouts to the exhibition season.“If we won, we came in here, turned the music on, showered, went home. If we lost, we didn’t turn the music on,” Holt said. “That’s what helped us to be so consistent. It wasn’t any different; there was no panic. He stayed with his plan.”A native of Puerto Rico who is the first minority manager in franchise history and one of the youngest ever to run the Red Sox dugout, Cora didn’t need much time to figure things out in Boston. After losing their opener, they won nine straight games and 17 of the next 18.They finished the regular season 108-54 — the best record in franchise history, and eight games ahead of the rival Yankees. They never lost more than three in a row, and their worst stretch of six losses in eight games came in August after they were already 50 games above .500 with a double-digit lead in the division.Through it all, Cora never changed.“Over the course of 162 games Josh Donaldson Jersey , things aren’t always going to go well,” outfielder Andrew Benintendi said. “He stayed even-keeled.”But never distant. While some managers looked at the clubhouse as the players’ domain, Cora will be out among them, joking around or just checking in. It doesn’t hurt that he is only eight years older than first baseman Steve Pearce, and was teammates with second baseman Dustin Pedroia on the Boston team that won it all in 2007.Holt called Cora “one of the smartest baseball people” he’s met, and noted that the manager’s ability to speak both Spanish and English also helps him relate to many of the team’s Hispanic players.“He’s one of the best communicators I’ve ever been around in the game,” Holt said. “As players, we always know what to expect, what we need to do. You see him in here, joking around with guys. He talks to everyone. I enjoy being around someone who enjoys being around us.”The season-long effort to communicate paid off after Game 3 of the AL Division Series against the Yankees, when Holt became the first player in major league history to hit for the cycle in a postseason game.Cora texted him that night to say he would be benched for Game 4 in favor of Ian Kinsler.“I expected it before it even happened,” Holt said. “I didn’t think anything about it. We all knew what’s happening, and what we were trying to do.”Kinsler doubled in the game’s first run and the Red Sox advanced to the AL Championship Series. And Holt was back in the lineup for Game 1 against the Houston Astros. Boston lost that one before winning the next six games, taking a 2-0 lead in the World Series before the Dodgers slowed them down with an 18-inning victory in Game 3. The Red Sox finished Los Angeles off in five games.Cora is the fifth Red Sox manager to win it all in his first season in Boston, but the first ever to win as a managerial rookie. His .667 winning percentage is also the best in franchise history.Asked this week if there was anything he learned last year that he would do differently in his second season, Cora noted that it was coach Ramon Vazquez’s wife’s birthday, and that was an unexpected setback for the staff in 2018.“He forgot about it last year,” Cora said with a laugh. “So we made a point to FaceTime her. She’s in California, and we have a cake and balloons and everything. So we’re making adjustments on the fly.“We made sure he didn’t forget this year,” Cora said. “Yeah, I mean, teamwork.”

completing another deal that includes another one of their top players. The team has reportedly agreed to a trade with the Philadelphia Phillies to send shortstop Mitch Haniger Jersey , Jean Segura, and relief pitchers, Juan Nicasio, and James Pazos. In return, the Mariners would receive first baseman, Carlos Santana, and shortstop, J.P. Crawford. The deal hasn't been confirmed by either team yet. But, this is what the expected deal will look like when it's finalized. This deal will mark the third blockbuster trade the Mariners have made this off-season.There is no cash being exchanged in the Jean Segura deal, a source said. That's a good deal for the Phillies, being able to unload Carlos Santana's contract like that.— Todd Zolecki (@ToddZolecki) December 3, 2018advertisingThis deal works perfectly for both teams. The Mariners are able to shed Segura's $58 million remaining contract while also acquiring a quality young shortstop. For the Phillies, they acquire Segura who is in the prime of his career. He will also serve a big offensive upgrade over Crawford at shortstop. While the Phillies are also able to unload Santana's poor contract. He's scheduled to make over $20 million for the next two seasons. Then, he has a team option for the following season at $17.5 million with the option for a $500,000 buyout.Santana would likely start at first base for the majority of the time because he did produce a .974 field percentage last season. While Crawford would be given every chance to start at shortstop next season. There are no questions about his fielding, but his effectiveness at the plate has been a struggle point for him.advertising Realtor.comThe Mariners have made it clear once again that no one is safe on their roster. They're likely not finished moving players with high contracts either. Third-baseman, Kyle Seager, is rumored to be the next player that will be traded out of Seattle. He is under contract through the 2021 season and has a team option for the season after that. The 31-year-old is scheduled to make $19.5 million over the next two seasons and $18.5 million for the season after that. His team option is for $15 million that also carries a buy-out that can reach as high as $3 million depending on his performance in the previous season. This contract is the most expensive one left on the Mariners roster, which is why it makes sense for him to be the next player moved out.advertisingThe Mariners are planning to trade anyone who is being paid a high salary for a number of seasons. Which is usually the way to go if you haven't had success with your roster. That is why I do agree with these decisions to unload as much payroll as you can.But on the other side of it http://www.marinersfanproshop.com/authentic-edgar-martinez-jersey , the Mariners are going to have a tough time bringing fans to games. When they still own the longest playoff drought in the MLB and they're trading away their best players. Because we all know, most fan-bases in small markets only care about the team when they're winning, not when they're rebuilding.RELATED:The Worst Draft Pick At Position 1 To 30 In MLB History Bob Ellis knew what he wanted from his mother-in-law’s collection of Lou Gehrig memorabilia both times she asked him to pick something out as a Father’s Day gift.It was a hat worn by the New York Yankees slugger and a baseball signed by fellow Hall of Famers Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Tris Speaker and Eddie Collins.“I could never wear the hat because my head was too big,” the Connecticut resident said in a phone interview with The Associated Press. “The baseball to me is historic. the Raiders Earl Mitchell jersey , I had absolutely no expectations for second-year quarterback Nick Mullens, making his first-ever start on a short week. The 49ers were sitting at 1-7, but never did I imagine that a change in quarterback would be the answer to fixing a lot of San Francisco’s problems. Yet with every drive, it seemed like fans started to gain confidence in Mullens’ ability.Mullens and the 49ers’ offense opened with back-to-back touchdown drives that spanned 75 and 66 yards, respectively and then closed out the half with a 59-yard, 1:38 drive for a field goal. Kyle Shanahan’s group opened the second half with a four-play, 75-yard touchdown drive and then a three-play, 68-yard drive that put the 49ers up 31-3 and effectively sealed the game. In his debut, Mullens was highly efficient, finishing 16-of-22 for 262 yards, with three touchdown passes, no interceptions and a near-perfect passer rating of 151.9. The 49ers’ receivers were an integral part of Mullens’ success (as was an atrocious Raiders defense), as the second-year player did not attempt a single throw into a tight window, per NFL’s Next Gen Stats. Let’s take a look at certain plays from Mullens’ debut that highlights his strengths, while showing some areas for improvement as he’s slated to make his second start against the Giants. After playing on Thursday Night Football for his first game Authentic K'Waun Williams jersey , Mullens is going to get another national showcase on ESPN’s Monday Night Football this upcoming week.On the 49ers’ very first offensive play, Mullens is able to find wideout Marquise Goodwin for an 11-yard gain. This is just beautiful pre-snap recognition, as the Raiders match up linebacker Tahir Whitehead on San Francisco’s quickest player with a free release. Mullens can trust that Goodwin is going to get open immediately and make a quick throw. Running back Matt Breida clears out the area by running deep, giving way for an easy first completion underneath.Again, another successful completion that’s a result of smart pre-snap recognition. Mullens motions running back Raheem Mostert from the backfield to the outside. As the Raiders’ linebacker follows Mostert, Mullens recognizes that Oakland’s in man coverage. The best matchup in this case was fullback Kyle Juszczyk, who is going to beat linebacker Marquel Lee every play. Now on 3rd-and-3, Mullens recognizes that the Raiders’ defensive back is playing seven yards off of wideout Pierre Gar莽on, which means that a comeback route should allow for a wide-open first down completion. While the throw seemed a tad bit late, Gar莽on was still able to make the play for a first down.On this play, the Raiders decide to play zone defense, which means that Gar莽on is able to find the soft spot in between the safety and the linebacker, giving Mullens a chance to hit him for a large gain. The 49ers’ offensive line does a good job giving the offense some time for the routes to develop and Mullens comes up with a perfect throw for a 25-yard gain. Here’s one of Mullens’ poorer throws of the evening, as he rushes his throw due to inside pressure. The 49ers’ quarterback doesn’t see the Oakland defender undercut the route and almost intercept this pass. Nine times out of ten this pass gets intercepted, but luckily for Mullens Youth Joe Staley jersey , it was just incomplete. Especially in the red zone, where the field shrinks, it’s better for the young quarterback to throw the ball away, rather than try to cram the pass into a tight window.Another poor throw that’s probably representative of Mullens’ arm strength. In this play, Gar莽on is going to run a out route, where he expects the ball to be delivered right after he reaches the top of the route. Instead, the throw is a bit slow and late, allowing the Raiders’ defensive back to deflect the pass away.More pre-snap magic from the 49ers’ second-year quarterback. As wideout Richie James motions across the formation, the Raiders’ defender follows, signaling man coverage across the board. There’s a slot corner blitz off the top, meaning Mullens’ should get rid of the ball quickly. James does a fantastic job in earning a free release and getting open across the middle of the field, allowing Mullens to hit him in stride for a 53-yard gain. (Underrated part of this clip is Goodwin celebrating as soon as James caught the pass.)Here’s Mullens’ best throw of the evening — in between four defenders. If you freeze the video four seconds in, you’ll see four Raiders’ defenders forming a square around tight end George Kittle, yet the second-year tight end makes the grab and turns it into a 71-yard gain. I don’t know what’s more amazing about this play — Mullens’ ability to fit the ball into that window of Kittle’s one-handed grab and run.For an un-drafted free agent making his first start, this was really impressive 49ers Arik Armstead Jersey , even if it was against one of the worst defenses in the NFL. Mullens was able to take advantage of his pre-snap reads, make quick decisions and get the ball out. The 49ers’ offensive line didn’t give up a single sack and a lot of that was Mullens not letting the pressure get too close. Next up is a Giants’ defense that’s middle of the pack, but should be better than what Mullens saw on Thursday. It’s going to be a tougher test, but with an extra few days of preparation and a home crowd behind him, I expect to see a similar performance from “BDN” on Monday.“He’s a bad ass” — Several teammates describe C.J. Beathard’s toughness There were several times during the 49ers match up facing the Chargers where we all thought C.J. Beathard might be dead. Thankfully, he was not. The second year quarterback has unbelievable resiliency getting up and staying in the game after taking a beating from opposing defenders. After two roughing the quarterback penalties in a row, it was almost surprising to see him stand in the pocket again. It was even more remarkable to see him back in the game after getting the wind knocked out of him after reaching for a first down late in the game as well. Head coach Kyle Shanahan says that they do tell everyone to not put themselves in harm’s way but all they can do is hope for the best. After the game Beathard remarked that in the same situation, “If I could do it again, I would do the same thing.”Here’s what some of Beathard’s teammates had to say about is toughness: Mike McGlinchey “I said to him today at the end of the game, he’s made of the right stuff man. He’s just a tough, tough dude and you love playing with a guy like that and and a guy that’s just going to continue to fight for you, and for this team. All the pride in the world to be blocking for C.J. and he’s going to continue to just keep getting better and keep standing up to everybody that wants to knock him out. “Matt Breida“He’s a tough competitor, as you can see. He’ll take the ball and run it, take big hits and get up and get back in the game. It’s going to be hard to get C.J. [out of] the game. That is what is going to make him a great quarterback.”George Kittle“C.J. is one of the most competitive people I’ve ever been around. He hates losing more than anybody I know. He played the game angry, thats’ just how he plays it. It’s awesome. I feel like he is more mature. I feel like we all are after getting a year under our belt. The guys responded to C.J. being out there and I think we responded really well. We’re looking forward to having C.J. lead us from here on out.”“He’s a bad ass. He’s good. C.J. has more grit than anyone that I know. “He’s got a severe dad bod. He can run longer than anybody I’ve ever known- which is kind of crazy -and he can take any hit. Its’ pretty cool. I don’e know how he does it. “Reuben Foster “Like I said Cheap DeForest Buckner Jersey , he ain’t no Roody-poo. He ain’t sweet. There’s nothing sweet about C.J. That’s why we got faith and we believe in C.J. but it’s really not surprising but it was surprising, I could see it in his eyes every time he came on the sidelines, “Defense, let’s go, we got your back, we run with y’all. Just by him saying that, just means a lot to me, and the defense because we know where his head was at. “When Foster was told that Beathard would do it all over again, regarding the play where he had the wind knocked out of him he replied, “He said that? Really? That’s why he’s FIRE!!”

the season against the Vikings in Minnesota was always going to be a tough task for the 49ers. The Vikings were one game away from the Super Bowl last year and upgraded their quarterback with the signing of Kirk Cousins in the offseason. But that still doesn’t help with the 49ers’ frustration in their loss on Sunday. They were in the game and had opportunities to steal a victory. Mistakes and red zone failures put winning out of reach. The red zone issues were glaring on Sunday. They were in the red zone 4 times against the Viking’s elite defense. In those opportunities http://www.authenticssanfrancisco49ers.com/cheap-k_waun-williams-jersey , they scored one touchdown and fumbled one at the goal line. It’s always going to be hard to score touchdowns against great defenses like Minnesota’s, so when the opportunity arises, the team has to punch them in. The Alfred Morris fumble at the 1 yard line hurt a lot because it would have tied the game at 10 a piece. Instead, they never got closer than 11 points. On a series in the 3rd quarter, Jimmy Garoppolo hit a jumping Pierre Garcon, but Pierre could not secure the touchdown. That led the team to a field goal. On their last red zone chance Youth Jaquiski Tartt Jersey , Jimmy sailed a pass over George Kittle from 4 yards. That led to their last points of the game.In their home opener this coming Sunday, the 49ers face the Detroit Lions, who had an awful game on Monday night. The Lions had poor showings on both sides of the ball. Matt Stafford had 4 interceptions against the Jets and the Jets offense hung 41 points on the terrible Lions defense. That’s a much easier task than facing the Vikings defense so the 49ers should have an opportunity to fix their red zone offense on Sunday. 49ers linksNot an ideal way to start the season | Down 2 guards potentially (Alper)That red zone offense needs to get fixed immediately | Fixing the offense (Inman)Other than the dropped pass, he had a good game | Good start to Kittle’s season (Williams)Only allowed one reception | Richard Sherman’s 1st game went well (Wagoner)Have to fix the red zone offense (Maiocco)Dante’s 1st TD (Martin)Defense played well. The 49ers are not getting another chance like this again; coaching the Senior Bowl and having the No. 2 selection in the draft. So they need to make this count. On a lighter note, I’m curious what Kyle Shanahan’s “offense” if you call it that will look like at the Senior Bowl. Curious because of the rules running offense and curious because his offense is one of the hardest to learn at full strength. It’s obviously going to be a loose shadow of what he runs, but I’m just curious what he goes with. View will be running through the Super Bowl Janoris Jenkins Jersey , highlighting the glory of the Giants’ past and celebrating the biggest playoff wins in franchise history. The Giants RisingJan. 8, 2012NFC Wild Card gameGiants 24, Falcons 2Antrel Rolle tapped himself on the chest, right over his heart, to make his point clear. It’s all about this. It’s all about heart. “If you don’t got it in the heart, I don’t know ...” the safety and soul of the 2011 Giants told me and other reporters that afternoon in their devastated postgame locker room. “We’re 10 times better than what we showed out there on the field today. “I don’t know, man. I don’t know. I don’t know.”The Giants did not have nearly enough heart, not on that mid-December Sunday in 2011. Not enough heart or intensity or anything else needed to beat the last-place Washington Redskins at home — not even as their postseason hopes seemed to be slipping away. The 23-10 debacle was the Giants’ fifth loss in six games, dropping them to 7-7. Just two games remained, and their slim playoff chances depended on winning both despite a 6-2 start.Just three weeks later, it seemed impossible that the Giants could have fallen into such a chasm after they comfortably dispatched the Atlanta Falcons, 24-2, in an NFC Wild Card game at MetLife Stadium. It was their first postseason victory since Super Bowl XLII and their first home playoff win since the 2000 NFC title game.Eli Manning and Co. were accustomed to performing near-miracles, as they showed in 2007. But it seemed the magic had run out in Week 15 after that loss to Washington. However, the 2011 Giants would prove just how resilient they were. It showed in how they always rose to the occasion in clutch moments Kerry Wynn Jersey , finding a way to win whenever they had to.And that started with a bond among the players and the trust and belief they had in each other. Rolle stood up in front of his teammates in a meeting late in the season and implored them to crank up the intensity, kicker Lawrence Tynes remembered. He called it “a turning point” for a team that was struggling.“Antrel had a lot to do with the 2011 year because of his leadership,” Tynes told Big Blue View. “He played so hard, and everyone respected him. He stood up and spoke to us. [Coach Tom] Coughlin was even in the room at the time.“He just kind of laid it all out there and said, ‘We’re too good for this.’ That was definitely a turning point for us when he spoke to the team and laid all his emotions out there.”Suddenly, the Giants were playing as well as anyone. They needed to.Their final two regular-season opponents? The Jets — coming off back-to-back AFC title game appearances — and the NFC East-leading Cowboys. In Week 16, Victor Cruz broke Rex Ryan’s Jets defense with a 99-yard catch-and-run touchdown from Manning right before halftime. It gave the Giants a lead they would never relinquish. And then they jumped out to a 21-0 halftime lead on the Cowboys in the season finale to win the division and clinch a playoff berth.“I know it’s kind of clich茅d, but if you believe, you can achieve,” captain and defensive end Justin Tuck said after the win over the Falcons. He added: “Right now we have a high level of belief in each other, and it’s showing on the football field.”Manning felt it too, completing 23-of-32 passes for 277 yards and three touchdowns. Hakeem Nicks caught six of them for 115 yards and two touchdowns. And the defense had transformed into a suffocating unit, yielding just 56 points in four playoff victories.Osi Umenyiora overcame injuries — he missed seven games due to right knee surgery in training camp and a high-ankle sprain in late November — to record two sacks in the regular-season finale and then 3.5 in the postseason.Tuck, who was limited by a number of injuries the entire season, registered a sack in each of the last two regular-season games and then 3.5 in the playoffs. The Giants won those final two regular-season games and then beat Atlanta in the first round of the playoffs http://www.giantscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-curtis-riley-jersey , but there was little optimism outside the team that they would make a deep postseason run. Not with 15-1 Green Bay waiting at Lambeau. And not with 13-3 San Francisco waiting after that. And both had beaten the Giants in the regular season. But Rolle believed. And Tuck believed. And so did Jason Pierre-Paul — who earned All-Pro honors with 16.5 sacks in 2011.“We’re going to win,” the defensive end said, predicting a victory over the Giants’ divisional round opponent, the Packers, after beating Atlanta. “A hundred percent we’re going to win.”Why?“Because we’re the best,” he said.Aaron Rodgers and Alex Smith would learn that soon enough. And then Tom Brady would learn it all over again in Super Bowl XLVI. A Date To Remember is an occasional series Big Blue View will be running through the Super Bowl, highlighting the glory of the Giants’ past and celebrating the biggest playoff wins in franchise history. The Circus InterceptionJan. 7, 2001NFC Divisional round gameGiants 20, Eagles 10Some called it The Cartwheel Interception.Others called it The Juggle.Whatever you label it, the circus interception was spectacular, bordering on unbelievable. The Giants held a 10-0 lead late in the first half of their NFC divisional round game with the archival Philadelphia Eagles at Giants Stadium. Then came the play everyone in America would be talking about the next morning.Jason Sehorn dove in front of Torrance Small, stretching out for a Donovan McNabb pass he tried to cradle in his arms. The ball squirted out of his grasp as he rolled onto his back. So Sehorn batted it up while lying on turf, pivoted onto one knee and snatched it near his shoulders. He then popped to his feet and sprinted 32 yards down the left sideline for a touchdown.Game over.Somehow, the play has largely been forgotten in the Giants’ rich lore, despite coach Jim Fassel calling it the best interception he had ever seen.It was too momentous a play — and Sehorn was too good a player — to be relegated to the overlooked Rhett Ellison Jersey , dusty archives of franchise history. And the 2000 team (12-4 in the regular season) accomplished too much, even if it was the only squad in franchise history to lose a Super Bowl. But first came the Giants’ 20-10 win — their ninth consecutive victory over the Eagles. And the Giants did it without scoring an offensive touchdown. They jumped out to a 7-0 lead when rookie Ron Dixon returned the opening kickoff 97 yards for a touchdown. The lead increased to 10 after a Brad Daluiso 37-yard field goal. Then came Sehorn’s heroics. He was part of a defense that limited Philadelphia to just 186 total yards and a garbage-time touchdown just before the two-minute warning.Sehorn’s name comes up infrequently, if at all, as the second decade of the 21st century nears an end.But blessed with 4.3 speed, he collected 19 interceptions and four defensive touchdowns in a 10-year career, nine of which were spent with the Giants. He intercepted 11 passes and forced seven fumbles combined in 1996 and 1997, building a reputation as one of the NFC’s best cornerbacks despite never receiving an invitation to the Pro Bowl.He missed the entire 1998 season after tearing the ACL and MCL in his knee in a preseason game and then missed six games in 1999, dampening his candidacy.A week after beating the Eagles, the Giants thoroughly dominated the Minnesota Vikings, 41-0. Sehorn held Hall of Famer Randy Moss to only two receptions for 18 yards. Then the Giants headed to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa for Super Bowl XXXV. Kerry Collins and Co. ran into the Baltimore Ravens and its all-time defense, headlined by Ray Lewis and Rod Woodson. But it was still a season worth remembering.

.His interview on ESPN Sunday morning made a stir http://www.authenticsnewyorkgiants.com/cheap-janoris-jenkins-jersey , he dropped a pass on fourth down, botched a punt return that turned into a Panthers touchdown, threw a touchdown pass to Saquon Barkley, caught a touchdown and caught eight passes for 131 yards in the team’s 33-31 loss. After that game came to an end, Beckham was asked about the interview that kicked the day off.Beckham said he was “trying to be a leader” when he said that he thinks the Giants have lacked heart and energy this season and disputed a report that he apologized to the team for saying it on Saturday night.  during the season http://www.redskinsfootballauthentics.com/derrius-guice-jersey-authentic , and aims to provide a forum for reader-driven discussion at a time of day when there isn’t much NFL news being published. Feel free to introduce topics that interest you in the comments below.“Designated to return”A team can send an almost unlimited number of players to IR, but league rules limit each team to a maximum of two players who can return from IR in a season. This season the Redskins brought back their two players.Trey QuinnThe first was Trey Quinn.Jerome Miron-USA TODAY SportsQuinn was good for 26 yards and a TD against the Cowboys, but was re-injured, did not play against the Eagles, and is now back on IR — his season is over. His “irrelevant” rookie season ended with 9 receptions, 75 yards and a TD, along with one rush for ‘zero’ yards.Byron MarshallBob DeChiara-USA TODAY SportsAfter being injured in pre-season http://www.redskinsfootballauthentics.com/da_ron-payne-jersey-authentic , Byron Marshall was re-activated ahead of the Week 11 game against Houston. His output in the 4 weeks since his return has been very limited.3 rushes for 9 yards3 receptions for 13 yardsPUPStacy McGeeMcGee wasn’t on IR; he was on the PUP list, which means he was already injured at the start of training camp, and remained injured when the regular season started and had not practiced at all at that point.Because he was on PUP rather than IR, McGee was able to come back to the roster, as he didn’t count against the 2-player limit. Here’s what James Dorsett said about Stacy McGee in this week’s Stats & Snaps article:NFIJosh HolseyJosh Holsey dropped a table on his foot in the offseason and was placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Related Injury list, so — like Stacy McGee — he was eligible to return to the roster.Holsey was activated in mid-November, then waived the following day.He was replaced by Casey Dunn Cheap Montae Nicholson Jersey , who was placed on the Injured/Practice Squad list yesterday. To the best of my knowledge, Holsey is not currently on an NFL roster. Christian Miller, OLBSchool: Alabama | Conference: SECCollege Experience: RS Senior | Age: 22?Height / Weight: 6-4 / 244 lbsProjected Draft Status: 2nd or 3rd RoundNFL Comparison: K.J. WrightCollege StatisticsPlayer OverviewChristian Miller is the son of former NFL linebacker Corey Miller who played in the 90s. Corey had a distinguished college career at South Carolina and was selected in the 6th round of the 1991 NFL draft (which had 12 rounds back then) and played most of his NFL career for the New York Giants. Now his son Christian has finished his distinguished career at Alabama and looks to make an even bigger mark in the NFL than his dad did. Christian was a highly recruited 4-star prospect back in 2014. He chose Alabama for the opportunity to consistently play for Championships and also because they played more of a 3-4 defense which is why he spurned his offer from Clemson even though it was much closer to home. He got the opportunity four times to play for National Championships and came away with two trophies with the Crimson Tide. Miller made his mark this season as both a weak side and strong side linebacker and was devastating at times rushing from the edge. His college career came with highs and lows as he battle injuries but also showed that he can be one of the better EDGE prospects that comes out of this class. Miller’s health will have a lot to do with where he is ultimately selected but if he can stay healthy in the NFL he could be a Pro Bowl caliber player. StrengthsGood athleticism, quickness, and agility for the position. Really impressive at times with his flexibility off the edge can cut in at angles other prospects can not. Really good vision and instincts. He’s a better pass rusher than he is run defender but he isn’t a slouch in that area. Consistently is a factor not only in playing contain but collapsing the pocket and re-routing runs. If the runner comes in his vicinity he sees it and can disengage and help bring them down. Has versatility to play both base schemes. Has played from a 2 point stance as well as 3 and 4. Has experience dropping back into coverage and does a decent job sticking with running backs. Has played both weak and strong side. Disruptive with good finishing ability. When he makes contact he wraps up. Has some pop to his hits.Already has several counter moves under his belt and knows how to change them together to get around the edge.WeaknessesInjury history. He missed 10 games last year due to a biceps injury. He missed some time this year with a strained hamstring. Recovery and medical evals will be important to him. While a good athlete he does not have that elite straight line speed you’ll see out of other elite players at the position like Von Miller, Clay Matthews, Khalil Mack etc. Missed a few potential big plays because of it.Functional strength could improve. Let’s see his work:More Christian Miller videosHow He Would Fit On The RedskinsMiller has been one of my favorite players to watch all season. I think he is extremely talented and if not for nagging injuries he would have put together an even bigger season. When he is healthy and on the field he can be dominant. If he can remain healthy will be the big money question for Miller. Based on talent alone I think Miller could essentially play outside linebacker for any team in the NFL and have success. I think his skillset despite lacking the size Youth Brandon Scherff Jersey , power, and length the Redskins usually prioritize at the position would add a much needed element to the pass rush. Miller has the pass rushing talent to contribute day one as a weak side linebacker if the Redskins don’t feel comfortable with Ryan Anderson for some reason. Truth be told the Redskins would benefit from having 3 potential starting quality OLBs on the roster. This is not only out of consideration of the snap counts at the position last season especially down the stretch. It’s also would give the defense a lot more versatility in deploying certain alignments, packages, and sub packages especially on passing downs. Custom Buffalo Bills Jerseys

Ravens: Studs and Duds The final preseason game of the summer is usually much ado about nothing - except for those guys fighting for a job on the 53-man roster. Thursday night's game was very ugly on both sides of the football, but that is often to be expected when second, third and fourth teamers play a lot of minutes. Below are my Studs and Duds of the game, followed up by some notes.Studs:Rob Kelley - As pretty much everyone expected, Rob Kelley came out and showed up when he needed to most (albeit against the Ravens reserves), virtually guaranteeing himself a spot on the 53-man roster (hey, gotta give credit where credit is due).He had 11 rushes for 49 yards and caught two passes for 14 yards. He even showed some burst to the outside on his touchdown run late in the second quarter that was called back for holding. Most importantly, he didn’t fumble. He did drop a ball that was right in his hands down by the goalline http://www.redskinscheapstore.com/tress-way-jersey-cheap , but we all know he’s not a receiver.De’Veon Smith - Smith looked explosive on his seven carries. The screen pass he took for a touchdown was beautiful! I don’t think he’s got a shot to make the roster, but this could be a great audition for another team looking for some running back depth. Trey Quinn - Quinn was a consistent target for Kevin Hogan when he was in the game, showing the ability to run good routes to get open and catch the ball in traffic underneath. He was good in the open field after the reception as well, and was very good on special teams. He’s a lock to make this roster. Simmie Cobbs Jr. - All this guy does is show up week after week. He led all Redskins receivers with 75 yards on three catches. He’s likely destined for the practice squad, but he has a future in the league; if not here, somewhere. J.P. Holtz - The fullback/tight end made some excellent lead block to spring the running backs for nice gains. He also lined up in-line and stoned his man on a few occassions. Holtz caught two passes for 11 yards and a touchdown. He’s really going to give the coaching staff something to think about regarding the 53-man roster.Ryan Anderson - Anderson played very well against the Ravens reserves, collecting four tackles (3 solo), one of which was for a loss, and assisted on the Pete Robertson sack. He looked fast, active and showed a non-stop motor. He also looked pretty good when asked to drop in a zone. Excellent game for the second year OLB. Hopefully this can translate to the regular season. Shaun Dion Hamilton -Hamilton was juked pretty bad and missed a tackle on the Ravens first drive of the game. Outside of that http://www.redskinsfootballauthentics.com/alex-smith-jersey-authentic , I though he played very well. He was aggressive in filling gaps, collecting a few tackles for a loss, and made a very nice play down by the goalline. He should have a nice role this fall with the team, and may be the future at inside linebacker. Tim Settle - Settle continued his disruptive preseason Thursday night. He may not have stuffed the stat sheet, but he was a force inside, and looked unblockable on some plays. I loved his stunt in the second quarter where he lined up as a 3-technique on the right side, looped around the left defensive end, and absolutely destroyed the left tackle attempting to block him while he put pressure on the quarterback. This kid was a draft-day steal!Duds:Kevin Hogan - Hogan played the entire game, and looked uncomfortable for the majority ofit. Granted, his offensive line was pretty bad in pass protection http://www.redskinsfootballauthentics.com/jonathan-allen-jersey-authentic , but some of the decisions he made were just head-scratching. The interception into triple coverage was awful.Tony Bergstrom - The veteran center played a very poor game against the Ravens reserves on Thursday night. He was pushed into the backfield on multiple occasions, and was PARTIALLY responsible for the Perine fumble. If it wasn’t for his versatility, we wouldn’t even be talking about him possible making the team’s 53. Geron Christian - Christian struggled in pass protection at left tackle. There were times when he just looked completely lost out there. He’s clearly not ready to contribute this year. Martrell Spaight - For as good as Spaight looked last week, he was equally as bad last night against the Ravens. He missed multiple tackles in the hole, and looked sluggish overall. If the team keeps five linebackers, he has a shot. If not, his time as a Redskin is over. Fish Smithson - Smithson just takes horrible angles to the football and doesn’t do much when he gets there. This was evident on the touchdown by Mayle in the third quarter. He’s an ankle-diver who misses way too many tackles. Dustin Hopkins - A 37 yard missed field goal...seriously? your ONLY job is to kick!Notes: - Apparently Apke can’t cover a TE either. He was burnt down the seam by fellow rookie Mark Andrews who got inside of him, and beat him downfield. - Bibbs is a great receiver out of the backfield, and is very good at blitz pick-up. He should make the team over Rob Kelley just for this.- The fumble by Perine was not good, but that attempted block by Bergstrom may have been even worse. I don’t think Perine was expecting that...but still http://www.redskinsfootballauthentics.com/jordan-reed-jersey-authentic , you NEED to protect the football.- T.J. Clemmings looked very rusty at right tackle. He had some good plays, and some bad ones. I think his job is in jeopardy.- Nice interception by Texada - talk about being in the right place at the right time...- Jerod Fernandez continues to make splash plays. I’d really like to see this kid on the practice squad.- Adonis Alexander had an up-and-down game. He missed some tackles, and that was concerning, but he also showed his great length on some plays in coverage. nflshopoutlet.com

There were reports earlier this month that said Le'Veon Bell would be back with the Steelers after their bye week.Well, their bye week is over http://www.pittsburghsteelersteamstore.com/t.-j.-watt-jersey , and he isn’t.According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the disgruntled running back did not join the rest of his teammates when the Steelers reported Monday morning after their bye weekend. At this point, it’s unclear when he’ll be back. We’re sort of assuming it’s not “if” he returns, because his goal is to get to free agency, and he needs to accrue a season to do that. That means showing up soon.Steelers owner Art Rooney II said that he didn’t anticipate Bell being traded Authentic Bud Dupree Jersey , and if Bell doesn’t report before next Tuesday’s trade deadline, that’s a moot point. But there could still be some lingering disagreement about whether he’d be subject to a roster exemption when he gets back, which would pay him less than his $855,000 per week. Womens T. J. Watt Jersey , the Pittsburgh Steelers announced that they would not be renewing the contract of running backs James Saxon on Monday, making him the second coach to effectively be fired since the season ended.Mike Tomlin released a short statement via the team’s official website officially confirming the decision. Of all of the issues Pittsburgh have struggled with as of late, the running back position has not been one of them and it would be fair to say the players under Saxon’s charge have generally flourished since he joined the Steelers in 2014. With a key hand in the development of Le’Veon Bell, Roosevelt Nix, James Conner and Jaylen Samuels Womens Sean Davis Jersey , it is hard to criticize his results from outside the organization, but clearly the team wants to go in a different direction. After Joey Porter was let go in similar fashion on Friday, Pittsburgh might not yet be done with the changes this offseason and those hoping that Keith Butler will also be shown the door might still get their wish.Steelers open as 4-point favorites over the Falcons in Week 5 The Pittsburgh Steelers have opened as 4-point favorites for their game against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 5, a line that really only makes sense when you understand it was set long before the Steelers dropped their second game of the season on Sunday night. Given the way the contest against the Baltimore Ravens ultimately unfolded, it seems highly likely that this spread will shorten as the week goes on. That being said Youth Joe Haden Jersey , taking into account the Falcons own disappointing 1-3 start to the year after losing in the dying seconds to the Cincinnati Bengals earlier in the day, it might be hard for backers to see enough value in either team to make the line move that much either way. As an NFC opponent, the Steelers only face Atlanta once every four years, but they have absolutely dominated the Falcons on the rare occasions they do meet. Owning a 13-2-1 record against Atlanta dating back to 1966, Pittsburgh have won their last two in a row against the Falcons Womens Javon Hargrave Jersey , but have seen three of their last four against them go to overtime. Before registering a tie against the Cleveland Browns in Week 1, Atlanta was the last team the Steelers had tied with back in 2002.Pittsburgh failed to cover the spread once again in Week 4 and are now 1-3 ATS so far this season. With the final total against the Baltimore Ravens ending up at 40, the Steelers are also 1-3 versus the over this season having gone under for the first time this year on Sunday. An opening totals position on 56 in Week 5 may seem high at first glance, but anyone who has watched Pittsburgh play this season knows it really isn't considering the way the Steelers defense has been playing.
