The Broncos are one of the dwindling number of teams with unsigned picks from the 2018 draft Rickard Rakell Jersey , but they are set to move closer to having everyone under contract.

Mike Klis of KUSA reports that first-round pick Bradley Chubb is finalizing his contract with the team on Thursday. Chubb, who was the fifth overall pick in April, will sign a four-year deal with a team option for a fifth season.

Per Klis, the four-year deal is expected to be worth a total of about $27.27 million with a $17.914 million signing bonus.

Chubb had 25 sacks and 54.5 tackles for loss at N.C. State and is expected to join Von Miller as an edge rusher on the Denver defense right out of the gate. How much playing time he gets in that role early in the 2018 season may be impacted by Shane Ray‘s wrist injury, but Chubb figures to be a prominent player sooner rather than later under any circumstances.

Once Chubb’s deal is done, third-round pick Royce Freeman will be the only unsigned Broncos pick and there will be 20 unsigned picks around the league.

UPDATE 2:31 p.m. ET: The Broncos have announced Chubb’s signing.

Swimmer Ryan Lochte has been suspended until July 2019 by the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.

The 12-time Olympic medalist has been sanctioned for getting an intravenous infusion, a method that broke anti-doping rules.

U.S. officials say Lochte was not using a banned substance. But under anti-doping rules Danton Heinen Jersey Kids , athletes typically cannot receive IVs unless related to a hospitalization or through an exemption.

Lochte posted a photo of himself getting the IV in May and that image prompted the investigation. He was entered in four events at the national championships that start Wednesday in California.

It’s his second suspension since the Rio Olympics. He was banned for 10 months after claiming he and three other U.S. swimmers were robbed at gunpoint at those 2016 Games, a tale that quickly unraveled.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A prosecutor in the trial of former Tennessee football players A.J. Johnson and Michael Williams says they used their status as athletes to rape a woman in a ”case about power, privilege and protection.”

Defense lawyers countered that the woman voluntarily had sex with both men before lying out of embarrassment.

The trial for Johnson and Williams got underway Monday, nearly four years after the incident in question. Each is charged with aggravated rape.

Johnson was a star linebacker and Williams a defensive back for Tennessee when a woman says both men raped her in the early morning hours of Nov. 16, 2014. Johnson and Williams never played for Tennessee again and were indicted on February 2015.

”They pass her back and forth like a rag doll,” Knox County deputy district attorney general Kyle Hixson said in his opening statement. ”To them Womens Christian McCaffrey Jersey , that’s all she was.”

Defense lawyers offered a starkly different account of what happened that night during a party at Johnson’s apartment, which followed a Tennessee victory over Kentucky.

The Hennepin County medical examiner’s office said Monday that the 56-year-old Sparano died of arteriosclerotic heart disease, or hardening of the arteries. The manner of death is listed as natural.

Sparano died Sunday in Eden Prairie, a Minneapolis suburb. He had been the Vikings’ offensive line coach since 2016.

Sparano began his NFL coaching career in 1999 and had stints as a head coach with the Miami Dolphins and Oakland Raiders.

NEW YORK (AP) – Mets minor leaguer Tim Tebow is set for hand surgery Tuesday and likely done for the season Jason Pominville Jersey Kids , dashing his hopes of playing in the majors this year.

The 30-year-old outfielder will have surgery in New York to remove his broken right hamate bone. He hurt himself last week swinging the bat.

The former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner was hitting .273 with six home runs and 36 RBIs in 84 games for Double-A Binghamton. He doubled in the Eastern League All-Star Game this month.

Tebow had been considered a candidate for a September call-up by the injury-depleted Mets. The recovery time is six to eight weeks, Mets assistant general manager John Ricco said.

SPORTS GAMBLING

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) – The Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey took in nearly $3.5 million in sports bets during its first nine days of accepting such bets.

And most of that came from two weekends that sandwiched a dead period for major professional sports caused by baseball’s All-Star break, when there was little to bet on, with basketball and soccer World Cup over, and football and hockey months away from beginning their seasons.

Meadowlands operator Jeff Gural told The Associated Press it accepted just under $3.5 million worth of sports bets since it began taking them on July 14.

”We did OK,” Gural said Monday. ”Our goal the first weekend was to exceed $1 million which we did. The next four days were quiet with nothing to bet on due to the All-Star break.”

This past Saturday Authentic Tyler Eifert Jersey , with baseball having resumed, the track took in over $650,000, and additional bets on baseball and other sports came in Sunday.

Tom Brady will have the opportunity to make another $5 million this season after renegotiating his contract with the Patriots.

Brady’s deal has been tweaked so that he has another $5 million in incentives for this season Garett Bolles Jersey , in addition to his $14 million base salary and $1 million roster bonus, according to multiple reports.

The Patriots did something similar last year with tight end Rob Gronkowski, adding incentives to his contract. There’s no word on the specific nature of Brady’s performance incentives.

Brady and Patriots owner Robert Kraft have long had a close relationship, and it’s no surprise that Kraft would be willing to give Brady the chance to earn more money without demanding more years on his contract. And despite the reports last year of friction between Brady and coach Bill Belichick, there’s no doubt that Belichick wants Brady to remain his quarterback.

Although Brady has not signed his restructured contract yet, he could do so within the next day.

New coach Pat Shurmur wants the New York Giants to do the right thing when the national anthem is played before NFL games this season Luke Kuechly Jersey , and that could be a problem.

Under rules enacted by the league last week, players can stay in the locker room during "The Star-Spangled Banner," but must stand if they are on the field. Teams will be fined for violations.

That puts Shurmur and the Giants in a difficult position.

While there were only a few players kneeling during the anthem at the end of last season, two are currently on the Giants' roster. Star defensive end Olivier Vernon got down on one knee during every game last season. Safety Michael Thomas, signed in March as a free agent after five seasons in Miami, has gone down on a knee during the anthem much of the past two seasons to support the movement started by former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick in 2016.

Shurmur said the Giants are going to let things settle before talking about the new rule as a team.

"I know certainly for me Shaq Thompson Jersey , it's very easy," Shurmur said Tuesday after a practice at an organized team activity. "I'm going to face the flag and take my cap off and listen to the anthem and be thankful that my family and I live in the greatest country in the world, and be able to kind of reflect on and be thankful for all the sacrifice that a lot of people have gone to, to help protect and secure our freedom."

Vernon did not respond to several requests to appear for an interview after practice.

Thomas said he wanted to discuss the new rule with fellow players and Giants co-owner John Mara before commenting.

"I am not committing to anything right now," Thomas said. "Just talking with my brothers and continuing to fight for our communities. Right now, we are not trying to jump the gun and step into anything."

Thomas would not say whether the Giants talked to him about the national anthem before signing him.

The 28-year-old Thomas reiterated his protests have nothing to do with disrespecting the flag or servicemen.

"A lot of people try and make this about something else than what it is Kendall Wright Jersey ," he said. "For me and my brothers, we know in our hearts why we are doing it and why we are taking this stance. We are not going to let it get distorted even if we have to find different methods and different ways to find a way to get our message across, then we are going to do that.

"I am not going to get emotionally hijacked about it right now, not going to make comments," Thomas added. "Just keep doing what we have to do."

Thomas played in 13 games last season with two starts. He will be given a chance to challenge Darian Thompson for the safety spot opposite Landon Collins, but he also is expected to be a force on special teams.

"It is very clear what they are thinking on special teams Billy Price Jersey ," Thomas said. "I am excited to be a part of that. I don't think having that low standard on special teams is going to be acceptable here."

NOTES: DT Damon Harrison took part in practice for the first time in OTAs. ... Collins, who had recent surgery on his right forearm, had a limited role in the practice. He wore a red non-contact jersey. ... Neither WR Odell Beckham Jr., nor CB Janoris Jenkins was at the practice, which is voluntary. Both told Shurmur they would not be there. ... Shurmur said Ereck Flowers is adjusting well to playing right tackle. He was moved there from left tackle after Nate Solder was signed as a free agent.

Philadelphia’s defense staged a last-minute goal-line stand and Jake Elliott atoned for a missed extra point with three field goals as the Eagles beat the Atlanta Falcons 15-10 to move into the NFC championship game.

Despite being underdogs as the No. 1 seed, the Eagles (14-3) showed plenty of moxie in the tightest spots of the fourth quarter.

They stopped sixth-seeded Atlanta (11-7) after it got to the 9 with a first down Alex Erickson Jersey , and then on fourth down from the 2 when Matt Ryan’s pass sailed over Julio Jones’ head in the end zone.

It was the first playoff win for Philadelphia since the 2008 season, and they will host either Minnesota or New Orleans for the conference title next Sunday.

The Falcons, who so memorably blew a 28-3 second-half lead in last year’s Super Bowl, won’t get a chance to atone for that defeat.

7:20 p.m.

Jake Elliott kicked a 21-yard field goal to extend Philadelphia’s lead to 15-10 over the Falcons with 6:02 left in the fourth quarter.

The Falcons took over at the Eagles 18 after a short punt hit a Philadelphia player in a crowd and was recovered by LaRoy Reynolds.

The Eagles then committed a pair of penalties to move the ball to the 8. On third down from the 6 Darius Slay Jersey , Ryan escaped a sack, stepped up and tossed a pass to Freeman in the end zone.

– Rob Maaddi reporting in Philadelphia.

Ben Roethlisberger isn’t playing tonight against the Packers, leaving rookie Mason Rudolph to start. It is not going well.

Rudolph threw a pick-six on the first play from scrimmage.

His pass intended for Darrius Heyward-Bey went to cornerback Tramon Williams, who returned it 25 yards for a touchdown.

The third-round pick is expected to play the first half before turning things over to Josh Dobbs, who hopes to continue his audition. Roethlisberger’s backup Marqise Lee Jersey , Landry Jones, will not play.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said in April that it feels like his first offseason with the team rather than his 13th as the team has hired new coordinators on both sides of the ball.

On offense J.J. Watt Jersey , McCarthy said the team went “back to Page 1 in the playbook” but it sounds like the differences from past seasons are going to be less dramatic. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers said it is not “wholesale change” and offensive coordinator Joe Philbin also said the alterations have stopped short of creating something different.

“As I said to them in the first meeting we had on April 16, 鈥業f you look at historically what this offense has done in the 12 years that Mike’s been here, I think it’s third in the NFL. So that’s like in the top 10 percent of your business over a long period of time.鈥?So they鈥檝e done a lot of great things here,鈥?Philbin said, via Jason Wilde of the Wisconsin State Journal. 鈥淚t’s been a process of refining Brandon Allen Jersey , enhancing, tweaking, as opposed to, ‘Yeah we scrubbed it down.鈥?Yes, we went page by page. [But] we’re not starting from scratch here. These players in that locker room Tracy Walker Jersey , they’ve done some great things.”

One big reason why the Packers aren’t starting over is Rodgers. Passing game coordinator Jim Hostler said the offense “really won鈥檛 look any different from the eye” because having Rodgers around to run it ensures that things will remain familiar even with tweaks around the edges.

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski has been cleared from the concussion protocol and will play in Sunday’s Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Gronkowski participated fully in practice on Thursday. Defensive lineman Deatrich Wise also practiced after being cleared from the concussion protocol. Malcolm Butler (illness) and Brandon King (knee) also participated in the workout.

Gronk said he is ”ready to roll” and has no limitations. He had been sidelined since taking a helmet-to-helmet hit from Jacksonville’s Barry Church in the first half of New England’s AFC championship game win.

The All-Pro tight end missed last year’s Super Bowl win over Atlanta after undergoing back surgery.

Gronkowski said he believes that the team doctors were just using the bye week to be as cautious with the injury as possible.

”We knew the whole time I was gonna be good to go,” he said. ”I was progressing really good throughout the week. We just knew I’d be ready and we’ve been practicing like we always do.”

Gronkowski led the team in receiving during the regular season with 69 catches for 1,084 yards and eight touchdowns.

His return gives quarterback Tom Brady another key option against an Eagles defense that finished the regular season ranked fourth in the NFL in defense.

Philadelphia is giving up 229 yards per game through the air in the playoffs. New England comes in averaging 318 yards passing during the postseason.

”He’s a dynamic player. He means a ton to our offense. He really has since he got to our team. It’s always great when he’s out there,” Brady said.

”I’ve played with him a long time, I’ve thrown him a lot of footballs. He knows exactly what to do Abry Jones Jersey , he knows where to expect the ball, when to expect it. He’s just a tremendous player for our team.”

In addition to Gronk’s return to practice, the Patriots also got a visit from former defensive lineman Vince Wilfork, who won Super Bowls with New England during the 2004 and 2014 seasons.

Gronkowski said it was always nice to have ”a great teammate” such as Wilfork around, but declined to say what words of motivation he offered the team.

”What he said was definitely inspiring – to just cherish the moment Taylor Moton Jersey ,” Gronkowski said. ”But other than that, it was good for our team. And I’ll just keep it at that.”

Even though Johnny Manziel hasn’t taken a snap in the CFL yet Tarik Cohen Jersey , his coach thinks the former first-rounder will end up back in the NFL.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats coach June Jones said he’s been impressed with the former Heisman Trophy winner/current backup to Jeremiah Masoli.

“I’ve been pleasantly surprised the last three weeks what a good teammate he is, how smart he is, how he sees the game,” Jones said, via David Newton of ESPN.com. “He should be playing in the National Football League and I believe he will when he gets through with us.”

Jones said he’s been encouraged by the performance he’s seen, but also the professionalism Manziel displayed. And while it might take time, he thinks Manziel will eventually be able to convince decision-makers he can be trusted.

“It’ll take two years,” Jones said. “They’re [NFL executives, coaches] waiting to see that he’s taken care of his off-the-field problems. . . .

“He’s humble. He’s growing up every day.”

As Jones noted, the thing Manziel needs to convince people will only come with time. After his stint in Cleveland ended for reasons that had little to nothing to do with football, Manziel will have to prove himself trustworthy for longer than a few week or months.

Known as Weapon X when he was a dominant safety, Brian Dawkins recognizes it could have been Weapon P, as in Philadelphia.

Dawkins Greg Zuerlein Jersey , who enters the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday night, spent 13 seasons as the leader of the Eagles defense, the emotional center of a team that made four straight NFC championship games and one Super Bowl. The connection with Philly will never fade for a guy who grew up in Florida and attended Clemson.

"They loved me and they will be here to be inducted together with me," Dawkins said Friday about Eagles fans and the city he grew to love. "I made it and now they have made it and will experience the Hall of Fame. Enjoy it.

"I played with emotion and passion. The other thing is they recognized I don't make mistakes. You can boo me for one thing I did wrong, but you won't ever boo me again because I would not make it again.

"I gave 100 percent of my 100 percent every game. I didn't back down from anyone or anything in a football game. I was a worker who didn't make excuses, and that's Philly."

Dawkins, who closed out his career with three seasons in Denver, where he also was supremely popular, made five All-Pro teams and was voted the Eagles' defensive MVP five times. He said making the hall never was on his mind until very late in his career.

"I was thinking it would be cool and wonderful if that happened," he noted, "but I didn't understand at that point it could be possible."

Hey Brian, it's possible and true.

WHO'S AN OLD MAN?

Randy Moss is 41, the same age his quarterback during Moss' greatest season Britton Colquitt Jersey , Tom Brady, reached Friday. Brady shows no signs of slowing down, and Moss believes he could still be effective at wide receiver at his advanced (for football) age.

"My last year (2012 with San Francisco), I didn't really get the chance to show I could still play," Moss said. "At 41 now, I still could play and believe I could score 10 touchdowns. The game itself came easy and I really feel that I could bring that much to the game."

In his final season, Moss had only 28 receptions and three scores. During his heyday with Minnesota and then New England, he was the most dangerous deep threat in the sport. In 2007, when New England went unbeaten before losing the Super Bowl to the Giants, he had a stunning 23 touchdowns on 98 receptions, gaining 1,493 yards. He was targeted 160 times by Brady that year.

"It was a great ride," Moss said.

CHUCK NOLL AWARD

The South JeffCo Mustangs from Littleton Matt Slauson Jersey , Colorado are the winners of the Chuck Noll Hall of Fame Game for Life Award.

The group will be presented with a $10,000 check from The DICK'S Sporting Goods Foundation.

The award, established last summer, recognizes 50 youth football leagues around the country for their commitment to coaching education; best practices in player safety; teaching lessons about how to win rather than emphasizing winning; and nurturing a culture that celebrates preparation, discipline, accountability and respect through the fun and fitness of football and how it applies to success beyond the field.

Former NFL player Merril Hoge created the award to celebrate the legacy of Noll, the Pro Football Hall of Fame coach who transformed the Pittsburgh Steelers from a downtrodden franchise to one of the most dominant teams in NFL history.

PASSION OVERFLOW

If there have been two more passionate defensive players in recent NFL annals than Ray Lewis and Brian Dawkins, they're hard to identify.

They never were teammates on the Ravens, the only team Lewis played for, but enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame together in the class of 2018. What if they had been on the field together?

"With all the energy he exudes and all I exude," Dawkins said, "it would've been tough on the other guys (to match). I would've loved to have played with him, but man."

Lewis Logan Thomas Jersey , who has campaigned for Ed Reed to make the hall when the former Ravens star safety becomes eligible, also has the utmost regard for Dawkins.

"I knew he had a similar chip on his shoulder and that's why I love BDawk," Lewis said. "He's one of the guys I'd love to have played with. I can't imagine a football field with me and BDawk on the field together.

"It's an honor to go into the Hall of Fame with a guy like Brian Dawkins."

WILL THE TEARS FLOW?

Brian Urlacher says there's no threat of crying when he practices his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction speech. As for when he delivers it ...

"When I go over it, I am OK," Urlacher explained. "But all the guys are telling me I am going to cry during the speech."

Lots of inductees do, even the toughest of former players. So Urlacher would join a long list of weepers.

Some have joked about an over/under number for how many times Ray Lewis breaks down.

As for Brian Dawkins, he guarantees he'll cry.

"Tear up? No question. The people I will talk about meant so much to me," he said Friday at a news conference. "I'm about to cry now."
